Ikara was shocked at his words. Treat people how you would like to be treated She had been taught that philosophy a long time ago, way back when she was just a little girl. She had rubbished it at the time, seeing the world as dog eat dog , survival of the fittest and every man for himself. Standing by the same belief system for almost 18 years had left it's toll on her and the result was she was all alone, depending on a brother she had nothing but pure hatred for in order to survive. Perhaps it was time to adopt a new way of life.
Wiping the tears away, Ikara sat cross-legged on the grass and looked up at Hissori and smiled, "Thanks....thanks for not running away...."
She felt a little happier inside and warmed towards her companion, no longer suspecting him of being a spy or trying to sabotage her mission.

He smiled in his usual manner; glad to see that his words were able to cheer her up a little, if not completely. “No problem,” He told her, he wondered how other people must’ve treated her in the past to make her think that way, but quickly those thoughts were dismissed… He wasn’t going to ponder on what could’ve of been a very disheartening subject.
Hissori had to admit, he was surprised how well they were getting along; considering how rude Ikara seemed at first, but now, he could actually see them becoming friends.
“So, do you wanna go and see the memorial?” He asked, it wasn’t too far to walk over the lake using chakra, or even walking around it didn’t take too long. Suddenly the teen felt, and heard his stomach rumble boisterously, a bead of sweat rolled down his face; the time must have flown by while he was sitting in that tree, since he hadn’t even had lunch yet. “Or, get something to eat?” He asked, hoping she may have been hungry too.

Ikara pondered for a minute over what to do. She felt a small growl from her stomach. "Um...i'm not a fan of memorials and all that....if someone's dead, i prefer to keep them in my mind rather than on stone...." She dismissed the first idea "But food sounds good...haven't eaten all day..." She put a hand on her stomach; the hunger pangs were becoming more painful.
Standing up, she ran a hand through her hair and swept it behind her ear. "But first....i have something i have to do..."
Slowly and carefully, Ikara untied the bandage around her eye and tossed its bloodied remains into the river. She knelt down and looked at her reflection in the water; Mizuki had done a pretty good job minimising the damage. She still couldn't see out the eye but the wound that ran vertically through it was rather neatly closed, leaving a thing scar. "Fresh start i think...." She smiled, watching the bandage float away downstream. "So...food then?"
