Haruka walked along the street the the east side of the village, the conversation that had just taken place still tumbling in her head. "Haruka, it is time you face that family." She couldn't believe had had even suggested her going back there. It was unreal. What was she supposed to say, 'Hey, long time no see.', 'Oh you don't remember me? I'm the girl you bought off the traveling merchant nine years ago.' 'Haruka if you ever want to release your fear of that family, you must face them.' 'Mabuki-sensei no baka!' She was afraid. She would give anything for someone to talke to in this confusing time.[/color]

Haruka looked at the two of them and forced a meek smile. Her mind was almost to wrapped up in what she was about to do to do anything else, "Hey, guys...." she mumbled, as happily as she could. She looked down at the ground and continued walking.

"No thanks." she said, not even looking up at him, "This is a trip i have to make on my own." She felt sort of bad for not telling him, but that family, that man, she had to face herself. No help from anyone. "But i would appreciate the company until i arrive there." she added.

As they neared the house, Haruka's breath grew shaky with fear. She never understood why she had such a dismal fright of the place. She clunched her hands nervously. She turned to Santomoro and said, "I'm on my own from here." She looked over her shoulder at the house, unsure of what exactly to do next.

Haruka walked up the steps to the front door. She knocked gentle and timidly. It was answered by a young girl in a servents outfit that she herself remembered wearing all those years ago. "Thank you." she said with a smile, trying to give the girl a scrap of hope in her situation. The little girl smiled. "Kunita!" a man's voice yelled. Haruka knew it all too well, "Do not even look at those at the door!" Haruka froze dead in her tracks and her head shot up. "Hushigomo..." she whispered, barely audible.

Kyo was taking his daily stroll, when he saw shadows crowded around a tree. Naturally inquisitive, he ran forward to see what was going on. He saw someone engraving something in the tree, and was confused.
"What's up, guys?" he said. "Names Kyo. Who are you?"

"What do you want, girl?" was the first thing that Hushigomo said to her. He did so harshly and rudely, but she didn't point it out.
"I need to speak with you, sir." she said, doing her best to make the reply straight forward. She looked past his head. "May name is Haruka Kunumitsu. Perhaps you remember."
"The little grub of a girl we bought off the Magumi twins?" he said, more shock than anger in his voice. She reached in his pocket, "You left this disgusting little thing when you moved out." He pulled out a beaten up circular piece, about the size of a yen piece, with writting all over it. It was on a leather string. He threw it at her. "Now, go away and don't come back!" He slammed the door in her face.
"I'm a constate reminder of something he did wrong." Haruka mumbled to herself. She began walking back down the steps of the house.

After examining the Japanese characters both sides of the silver pendents, she realized they were the symbols for 'Sunrise' and 'Sunset.' A puzzled look appeared on her face. 'What in the world is that supposed to mean?' she asked herself. A steady memory began to flow back to her mind.
On the night of a thunderstorm, when she was three, she had been absolutely terrified. He mother came in and sang a song which quickly put her to sleep. How had it gone? She tried to sing the words in her head to herself. Sunrise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset. Swiftly pass the days. Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers, blossoming even as we gaze. Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset. Swiftly pass the years, one season following another, ladden with happiness and tears.
Haruka hadn't noticed it, but the whole times she had been humming the tune while remembering the words.
