Time For A Challenge

I pulled my knees up to my chest and sighed.
"Santo-kun? If you have no last name, then what happens if you marry?" I asked.
"Doesn't the bride have to take her husbands last name?" I asked. I sighed again. If my destiny were to marry him, I would be able to keep my last name, but if I ended up marrying Yuuhi...I would become Shizuke Oro.

He smiled and said "we do have a last name but we gave it up I still remember it but I dont use it but if I do maeey my wife has a choice I can let her know my last name and then she can chose if she wishes to keep hers or asume mine we dont tell anyone else of it though" he looked at her she seemed worried or atleast threw his eyes he couldnt quite tell

I looked over at him and siled a bit.
"What is your last name?" I asked. I wanted to know it. I wanted to know everything I could about him. I would never forget it, once it was in my mind. So far as long as I had known him, I had just known him as Santomoro, not anything else.

He smiled and cupped his hand around her ear and whispered "my name and the name of my Clan is Purotekuta- Mei for we are the protectors of the light and we will protect it till our death this is our way to protect our light those we care for no matter what the cost my name is who I am" he sat back down and looked at her and was kinda embaressed his name was finally known the name he had hidden for so many years

I crawled over and sat right next to him, my side pressed up against his.
"That's really long." I said.
"Why is it so long? I mean like, and I thought my last name was long!" I laughed and smiled. I didn't really care if his last name was long or not, he was still Santomoro to me.

He smiled and said " it may be long but it has meaning behind it so yea it maybe long but it means our mission as shinobi we are to protect our light we are to protect the light of our clan we are to protect the light of this village our name littleraly means protecters of light Purotekuta means protector and Mei means light so this is our way" he chuckled and said " I never realized it was so long"

I nodded slowly and laughed.
"I feel so silly!" I laughed.
"My name is so short, and my mother and fathers name, they're all so short!" I laughed and cuddled in closer.
"But, it doesn't really matter if it's long or not. You're still Santomoro." I said, closing my eyes and smiling bigger. It was true though, no matter how long his last name was, he was still Santomoro.

He smiled and began to relax his name had been somthing no one else knew for so many years it is what he kept from people since if they knew his name they would hurt him that name he bore was all he had left but he trusted her and said "that is my name and I am still me"

[Shizuke Tsukiyama]

i smiled happily.
"Santo-kun? You told me that you had to hide your last name. What happened if someone found it out, besides me?" I asked. I hoped that it was nothing bad, and if it was I would have to keep my mouth shut. I looked up at him and tilted my head.
"Do you know how to write your name in calligraphy?" I asked.

He smiled as he wrote it and said "well depending on the person if they found out if they were a hunter they would know and try to kill me if they are a friend they will know more about me and my family then most people ever will but there is but one hunter left and he is old he never married and his only son I killed but he has not the stregth to hunt me anymore for he knows I will win"

I nodded slowly.
"But what if there are more out there? Hiding I mean, and just waiting until they find a vulnerable spot and strike." I asked. I looked around the room.
"You never really know who's watching you. Anyone could be watching us right now." I said. I shuddered. What if a new hunter-nin appeared, and found out about me and Santomoro? What if they held me hostage, and forced him to commit suicide?

He looked at her and said "there is only one flaw those ninja that tried to hunt me are of a specific clan it is there soul duty they belive to eliminate us they were intrusted with our one weakness and unless that clan choses to give up there right to another which a stuborn mule like him would never do he once made a statment to my father 'it is my clan who will kill you no one elses' but now he is old atleast 70 and no heir if I am lucky by the time I am 30 I will have no other enemy"

I swallowed and forced back tears.
"But what if, whoever this guy is, were to find out about me and you?" I asked.
"He could hold me hostage against my own will and threaten you." I said, still forcing back my tears.
"With me, he could force you to do anything." I said, a few tears dripping down my cheeks.
"All my friends would be dead if someone were to hold me hostage and threaten them, my friends would do anything for me." I said.
"Yuo were give up his life for me, and so would Yukio, Yuuhi, and Saeko." I said, a few more tears dripping down.

[Santomoro Purotekuta- Mei]

He placed his hand on her cheek and kissed away each tear and said "He wouldnt be able to harm you because he made a vow whe given the knowledge to never harm any member of any village only us to do so would me he had killed his honor but if he should I would kill him faster then any man could he would regret it and I will see to it he never will" he smiled and said "shi I will never let anyone hurt you"

More tears dripped down my cheeks.
"But what if he didn't hurt me, what if he used me to threaten you?" I asked.
"Like, what if he captured me, and told you, that unless you, let's say, broke both your legs, he would slit my neck," I said.
"But he was just doing it to get to you." I said, more tears dripping down my cheeks. I nodded slowly.
"I know you would." I said quietly.
