Kira headed for Ichiraku's Ramen Bar, feeling surprisingly depressed. She didn't know what was wrong, but it just seemed like she couldn't be happy today.
As each second passed, she seemed to be getting more and more depressed, making it hard to seem emotionless.
Perhaps it was the fact that she seemed to be getting nightmares about her parents' deaths lately.
Kira looked exhausted from lack of sleep, because she was starting to fear closing her eyes, for she could drift into sleep, and once again be in the torture chamber in which she calls her mind, re-living the deaths of her loved ones.
"I should've taken my happy pills today..." she thought sarcastically to herself.
She seemed more pale than usual, and thought "Maybe I'm getting sick..." But she quickly discarded that possibility, because she didn't feel sick and there didn't seem to be a way in how she could get sick...her immune system was strong, it was why she could stay out in the rain for so long.
The man at Ichiraku's noticed his customer...a girl who came frequently and ate like she was starving, making it seem as though her stomach was a black hole, or a bottomless pit. He knew her name from her many visits, and eventually figured out that even if this young girl seemed cold, or emotionless, she had a kind heart to some. He walked over to her, ready to take her order, but decided something and told her, "You don't look well, how about a ramen, on the house?"
Kira gave a small, barely noticable smile, as she replied "No...it's okay...I'm alright. Can I get a BBQ ramen?" She would've felt guilty, and like she cheated the man out of his money, if she accepted his offer.
He simply nodded and went to get her ramen ready.
Kira laid her head in her arms, and then hid her face in her arms, laying against the table and balancing on her stool. She kept her guard up, but she still felt the settling depression.
To others, it seemed as if she was an innocent little girl who was just feeling sick, or sad. Looking at her from the back, it looked as if she were crying, when she was just simply lying there.
Soon her ramen arrived, and she grinned slightly. She took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the ramen, and some color returned to her cheeks, as she dug in, eating as if she hadn’t eaten for a week.
