The tree branch was uncomfortable, this she had to admit. Mayaku had spent the last several hours perched in the same spot. She had watched the sun disapper beneath the horizon, leaving the stars to light the world as they marked their paths through the sky. She breathed in the crisp night air as she sat there waiting. There was nothing in particular that she was waiting for, even she was questioning why exactly she was sitting here. She couldn't shake that nagging feeling that if she waited just a bit longer, something or someone interesting might come along. Just a hunch, but not much more. She sighed and shook her head, fighting off sleep. To combat the urge to give into the the nagging little sleep monsters that tugged at her eyelids, she leaned back, allowing herself to swing upside down from the branch. It was then she noticed a figure moving through the darkness towards her.

Sato slammed into the tree and fell backwards seeming dazed but not out cold, he got up and stumbled around before he looked up, he couldnt see anything but stars, but not the ones in the sky, everything went black and then he fell down out cold.
Sato winced a little while he was out cold and heard some sounds, he hoped it wasnt the people who were chasing him, he couldnt open his eyes or move so he waited for the pain to come if there was any to come towards him as his green hair waved.

Mayaku felt the tree shake as the figure slammed into the tree and toppled over. She winced, almost feeling that blow for herself. She watched as he attempted to stand up and steady himself, not to any avail since he once again fell over. Worried, Mayaku allowed herself to slip off the tree branch to the ground. She looked him over, checking for any serious injuries. None that she could see. A bump and a bruise on the head, but nothing too life threatening. Voices off in the distance reached her ears. She couldn't decide whether they sounded angry or not. Still too far off to tell. She turned her attention back to the boy and shook him lightly, hoping for a response.

Sato heard a girls voice and opened his eyes halfway, "Get..away..from..them.." he said hearign the voices and he pointed to where they were and passed out again, his head was reeling, about five seconds later he stood up, took the girls arm lightly and slowly pulled her behind the tree, he sat own against it, letting her go before he did so and close his eyes, not passed out.
A group of people ran by and looked around, "Where did he go?!!" one of them yelled, a females voice, a mans voice came out, "I dont know.." he said sighing and they ran off, leaving one person to stay there and wait, he didnt look very strong, about 19 years old.

The boy stirred and opened his eyes a bit. He umbled a few words she couldn't quite make out, pointing in the direction the voices were coming from. He went silent for a moment, and it seemed to her that he had passed out again, but a few seconds later she felt him grip her arm lightly. He pulled her behind the tree. He settled himself against the trunk. Mayaku went still, following his lead, trying not to attract their attention. "Where did he go?!!" a woman shouted. "I don't know." one of her comrades replied. The group took off, leaving one person behind to scan the area. Mayaku closed her eyes and held her breath, waiting for the man to mave on. When he finally did, she turned her attention back to the boy at her side. "Are you okay?" she asked.

Sato mumbled something inaudible again but slowly opened his green eyes, he stared at the gurl for a moment, "..Are they gone.." he asked as loud as he could, which wasnt all that loud, he sighed and stood up shakily, he used the tree for support and rubbed his head, "Ow.." he said feeling the bump, "Is it bad?" he asked smiling a little nervously, he moved his green hair away from his face and the smile disappeared as he felt the bump again, he winced sighing.

"..Are they gone.." Mayaku heard the boy ask. She nodded. "They're gone," she replied, "for now anyway." She watched as he stood up, muttering, probably about the pain. "Is it bad?" he asked, moving his hair out of the way, wincing in pain as he did so. "It's nothing too horrible. You'll have a massive headache for a few hours, but aside from that I think you'll be fine." she said, trying to sound reassuring. She smiled lightly and stood up from her crouched down position. "If you don't mind my asking, what happened back there? People usually don't run into trees unless they have a really good reason." she aksed politely as she could.

"I was being chased" he said sighing a little bit, "Dont know why, but they seem to want to kill me" he said looking around the tree, he saw noone and was relieved, he scratched the back of his head nervously, "Im Sato" he said smiling to her, he held out his hand hoping for a shake and her name, She seems nice enough to trust he thought still smiling, very happy.
"I CANT BELIEVE YOU LOST HIM!!" a womans voice rang out and a smack was heard, "Im sorry!' a man said rubbing his head, "Lets continue searching.." he said sighing and jumping off, the youngest, a 13 year old came by the tree and heard a voice, he stopped and looked around.

Mayaku listened intently as the boy explained his predicament. She watched as he looked around nervously, and then relaxed, obviously relieved. He held out his hand to her. "I'm Sato." he said. Mayaku smiled back and took his hand in a shake. "Mayaku." she said. She dropped his hand and looked around, making sure the area was clear. "We should probably re-locate. They're bound to come back through here to double check. If they're trying to kill you it's probably best to try and steer clear of them."
(OOC: Hahahaha! I just realized that I typed "mave" instead of move a few posts ago. Wow, talk about opposite ends of the keyboard. Didn't realize I was that sleep deprived. Lol.)

Sato nodded and looked around and saw noone, the boy had left, he began to walk out but then his head started to hut again, "Ngh..Ow.." he said sighing a little but continuing to walk, he looked around more and stopped, "Its clear" he said back and sat down for a second waiting for her to catch up.
"I heard voices but they werent there" a boy said and the woman sighed, "Maybe they were moving off! Quick, back to that direction!!" the woman yelled and they started to go back.

"Its clear" she heard Sato say. Mayaku nodded and picked up her pace to catch up with him. He moved quickly for someone who had run into a tree. "Maybe I'm just slow." she thought, smiling to herself. She saw him sit down, waiting, so she quickened her pace a bit more. Once she caught up to him, she offered him a hand up, scanning the area again as she did so. No signs of his followers yet. That was good. "I really need to not be so slow. At the rate I'm going I'll get us both killed." she thought to herself.

Sato grabbed her hand and pulled himself up, "Th-Shit!" he yelled grabbing her and diving into a nearby bush as footsteps fleed past them and in the other direction, "That..was close" he said sighing a little, holding his head now because it was reeling, "Ugh.." he said laying down, "I need a few minutes to lie down.." he said closing his eyes with his hands on his head, all of the people were going in the other direction so he knew that they were safe for now.

Mayaku barely had time to react to Sato's shout, before he grabbed her hand and pulled her into some nearby bushes. She heard footsteps rush past them. She breathed a sigh of releif, thankful they hadn't been seen. She turned her attention to Sato, who by now had layed on the ground, holding his head. "That headache must be working badly." she thought. An idea popped into her head. She took a kunai from the pouch at her hip and proceeded to cut a strip from the hem of her pants leg. Once she had pulled the cloth free of all attachment, she replaced the kunai, next pulling out a small flask of water. "Good thing I decided to bring this." she thought to herself. She doused the rag with the cool liquid and offered it to Sato. "I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do. It might help a little." she said.

Sato opened his right eye and saw the rag, he smiled a bit, "Thanks.." he said taking it and putting it on his forehead, I figured she might have left me, seeing that all of them are chasing me, i wonder why she hasnt.. he thought and opened his right eye again, "Hey..Why are you still here..you can leave y'know.." he said trying to make it sound as nice as he could, he waited for the answer with his eyes closed.
The bandits stopped for a second, far away from them "Can you sense them?" she asked the thirteen year old, he shook his head, along with the others, she smacked her forehead and sighed a little, "Lets split up, go!" she said hopping off with them going in different directions.

"Hey..Why are you still here..you can leave y'know.." Sato said. Mayaku smiled. "I want to make sure you're okay before I just leave you. Besides, I can't leave you to deal with all of them alone. Considering that you've told me they're out to kill you, that would kind of be like leaving you to die. I try not to leave people for dead, not if there's anything I can do to help. Unless I'm the one trying to kill them that is," she explained, "but since you seem like a nice person, and I'm not out to kill you, I wouldn't leave you here alone."
