Akiyo rasied her eyebrow at Kita's gesture. She felt the slightest odd temptation to say thank you for some unknown reason. She shrugged it off, labeling the feeling as gratitude for his kindness. She felt the smallest smile flit across her face when Kita reassured her that Ikara would be fine.
Her eyes had automatically zoomed to a shadow, which suddenly blocked the sun shining in her eyes. She fought the instinct to attack the figure. Her body screamed to defend herself, but she noticed that Kita seemed to know the person.
Her nose picked up the scent of blood. She could recognize the metallic scent anywhere. She'd been in contact with it for far too many times already.
She silently listened to the conversation, noticing the serious-looking wound the guy showed her. She picked up a few pieces of information. The figure was named Teorau. Ikara was still mad for reasons she couldn't understand. Kita's eyes widened slightly, making Akiyo wonder if he was actually afraid of his younger sister.
Again, she felt compelled to thank Kita for being nice the person who caused all the conflict.
Her anger flared at Teorau's comment, as she snapped, "And you're not the kind of guy who would do that? You certainly sound like someone who would run away with your tail in between your legs in the face of a powerful danger! Are you suggesting that you would stay and defend another, while Kita wouldn't? After all, it IS just human nature to value your life over another's."
She smirked back slightly, happy that she still retained the angry, rebellious flare that snapped easily. She was relieved that she hadn't changed from her precious, cold personality.
Her fingers instinctively curled around a kunai hidden in her pocket, in case he were to attack. She secretly knew that the reason for her comment wasn't because she wanted to defend Kita, but rather, she was itching for a fight. She thrived on fights, loving the way a weapon could so easily pierce skin. She liked the adrenaline pumping through her veins, and how her hidden anger escaped so easily in the event.
Perhaps her thinking was twisted, but she wanted the possible fight and the chance to wipe the annoying smirk off Teorau's face. The small thought turned the small smirk on her face into a grin the revealed her canines.

Teorau raised an eyebrow and looked down at the girl who had answered him back. ”Excuse me…” He spoke with an urbane arrogance “And who brought you into this?” He put his hands on his hips, the sleeves of his striped jumper hiding all his hands bar his thumb which poked through a small hole. ”Our family matters are none of your concern….although,” He looked down his nose at her, recognising his cousin in her. “….nevermind. Its not important,” He bit his tongue. It wasn’t his place to dredge up old family history at a time like this.
Kita growled at Teorau, frowning as he watched him from the corner of his eye. He stood up and faced his cousin. Both had inherited the tallness of the other Hyukari men and they stood eye to eye, exchanging harrowing glares. “Ignore him….” Kita said to Akiyo, keeping his eye on his cousin. “He’s always had a superiority complex; likes to think he’s holier than thou when the truth is, he’s just a jealous bastard. He can’t stand the fact that his brother would rather spend time with me than with him….”
He knelt back down to Akiyo’s level and took her hand “Come on….we gotta go find Ikara and calm her down….” He sighed; it was an easier task to accomplish these days. One swift blow to the head would knock her out for an hour or so and she’d wake up calm and relieved. Before, it would require bringing her to the verge of death

Akiyo decided to ignore Teorau's comment, too depressed over the fact that she lost her chance for a fight. She mentally snickered, hearing Kita insult Teorau.
She lowered her gaze to her hand, feeling a slight tug at it. She reluctantly got up, using her other hand to brush away the grains of sand stuck to her clothes. Her mouth pressed into a grim line, when she heard Kita's plan.
Something mentally told her that if she were to go, she was likely to get into a fight with Ikara. She had enough common sense to know that when it came to her own personality, she'd be unable to back away from a challenge.
She sarcastically imagined having to go see Ikara, waving a white flag around and stating, 'I come in peace.' She silently wondered if she;d watched too many cartoons, but reminded herself that she didn't have a TV in her mini apartment.
Akiyo willed her legs to take steps and follow Kita, as she mumbled under her breath, "And how do you intend to do that? I'm quite positive that if Ikara sees me, she'll go berserk again and attempt to kill someone...most likely me. If she's that upset, she's not likely to listen to reason." She tried to think logically about what could possibly make Ikara calm down, but she knew virtually nothing about the stranger.
She thought back to the beginning of her unluckiness, remembering why she was approached in the first place, and Ikara's warning.
Unintentionally, she voiced her thoughts. "Is it possible that in this case, judging from Ikara's first warning, that she knows me fro sometime in the past and saw me as a danger? I may not remember my past, but that doesn't mean she doesn't remember a thing. It's obvious that she cares about you, but I think I need to be responsible for explaining to her that I mean no harm, unless I'm attacked."
She felt a little loss in her thoughts as she tried to work out a plan that didn't involve someone getting injured...especially herself. She didn't plan to fight with Ikara, knowing that she and Kita were related, she wasn't interested in feeling guilty because she hurt the loved one of the single person who was nice to her.

Kita sighed and put a hand on his hip, throwing a casual glare at his cousin. "Well there's two ways to calm my sister down. The first is a swift blow to the back of the head but that's far too violent for my liking; yes we have sibling squabbles but its never too far that i would injure her unless need be".
Kita much preffered the other method of calming his sister but it was only around 70% guaranteed to be effective unlike the certainty of the first. He pulled some loose change out his pocket. "My sister, like a lot of the Hyukari girls, has an extremely sweet tooth so promise her candy and she's pretty much putty in your hands" he grinned. "The two calming methods highlight both aspects of her split personality - violent and childish" he gave a slight giggle.
Teorau bit his lip as he listened intently to Kita's words. "I'm coming too" He announced, his tone of voice clearly stating there was no discussion in the matter "Shuya and Arisu are being....bothersome.....you and your little friend are currently the lesser of two nuisances for the time being," he reached into his back pocket and pulled out two of his knives, running a finger along the blade. "Just don't expect me to, you know, do anything"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ikara sat still, legs dangling over the cliff that towered above Suna. She looked down at the bustling town below, trying to catch a glimpse of anyone she recognised. She took a breath and calmly breathed out. This short respite had calmed her down considerably and now the familiar feeling of guilt was looming over her. She pulled out her cellphone and dialled Teorau's number, hesitantly resting her finger on the call button but not pressing it. She switched the phone off and put it back in her pocket. It would be more respectful to apologise face to face.
Sandy grains dusted her white ninja sandals, itching between her toes. She adjusted the tongue of the sandals which sat just below her knee; they were beginning to get too tight. It'd be a pain to get new ones since hers were custom made.
Twirling a strand of auburn hair around her finger, Ikara sighed, thinking of what had happened that day. Why did she know that girl? Why did that girl look like her and seem to know her? She'd been alone for 90% of her life so she had a clear memory of the small amount of people she'd interacted with. Social workers in the orphanage, her sensei, targets in her freelance missions, Gaara-kun, Haruka-chan and her sensei, Kita, Kaori, a strange girl who preffered transforming into a cat than remaining human, Hideaki-kun. Only a small amount of people had ever really impacted her life and there was no memory of this girl. Not unless she was insignifcant and just a stander-by in the background.
But why did she make her blood boil so much? Why did these feelings of pure hatred stem from every time she loooked at her. Was it perhaps because she saw herself in the girl and it was self loathing that was manifesting? But she enjoyed her life now. She was happy. She had a dysfunctional family which was certainly better than no family at all. She, Kaori and Kita lived together and got on with their lives. Kita went off on missions and earned a living; Kaori kept studying to pass her exams whilst she, Ikara worked in Gaara's office and in her freetime, was free to do as she liked within reason; getting into trouble for pushing her boundaries, rewarded when she deserved it. It almost felt like Kita was her father and Kaori was her mother rather than her brother and his girlfriend at times. But she was happy with things the way they were. Things were at last, peaceful and normal.
But then she appeared and was jeapordising it. If she really was related to them, she'd be the more interesting new girl in the family and she'd get all the attention whilst Ikara was pushed out. But she wouldn't allow it. Not if she could help it.

Akiyo felt a slight frown cross her face. she slowly thought about kita's statement, finally noticing that the girl's name was Hyukari, Ikara. She silently mouthed the word, "Hyukari?" questioning it. She had enough of a brain to know her own last name was Hyukari, but something about it seemed odd. She shoved away the thoughts and decided to lay the little faith she had in the Suna files that could tell her every piece of information about her past that she'd forgotten.
She thought over Kita's statement about Hyukari girls having a sweet tooth, feeling uncomfortable that she also had a thing for sweets. Though she'd never eat any candy, it was only because she feared getting a cavity and having to go to a dentist. She shuddered at the thought of the gloved fingers jabbing around in her mouth, poking her teeth. She'd more than likely attempt to bite the dentist's fingers off.
When she hear Teorau's voice again, she snapped out of her thoughts. The glint of two knives caught her attention as her hands instinctively led toward her kunai. she stopped herself just in time, though her fingers still yearned to grip some sort of weapon.
The change in Kita's hand also caught her attention. Though the thought of running for her apartment still felt remained fresh in her mind, she thought she should at least take some sort of responsibility for the mess she caused. She looked at Kita, though she refused to make eye contact, as she asked, "If you're going for the candy option, shouldn't I be the one paying? After all, the mess was really just my fault..." She spoke with a lazy tone, trying to sound like she didn't care.
For the billionth time, Akiyo wondered if her day had just gone from bad to worse.

[woot at last a reply appears! And by way of apology, have 40 Karma!]
Kita sighed, brushing a hand through his dirty blonde hair. A small smile played on his lips as once again, Akiyo blamed herself for what was going on. It was completely reminiscent of his sister less than a year ago when she went through her personality overhaul; she blamed herself for everything during her depressed stages. She’d sob if she used the last of the milk and try to make it up to both Kita and Kaori by buying double the amount of milk. She was like a helpless puppy.
Kita pulled his cellphone out once again and put it to his ear
ring ring
It rung a half dozen times before finally, answering.
What do you want?
The answer was unenthused, almost bored sounding.
“Where are you?”
On a cliff somewhere…..not sure where though; can see our house from here and…….yeah I can see you faintly….at least I think it’s you…..looks kinda podgy….
“EXCUSE ME!” Kita yelled down the phone, “You’re one to talk; or do we have a cookie monster living with us?” He smirked, waving Akiyo over beside him
“Anyways, I’m coming up to see you, want a wee word with you!”
”Go to hell….”
“Love you too sweetie!” With a final patronising goodbye, Kita hung up the phone.
He turned to Akiyo and pointed to the cliffs that overlooked Suna. “Forthwith!” He marched on in their direction. This was certainly turning out to be one of his more eventful training days.
Ikara flicked her phone closed and shoved it back in her pocket; peering over the cliff, she could make out the faint silhouette of Kita, Teorau and that Akiyo-girl. Even thinking her name made her spit venom. Her eyes furrowed into a frown and she picked up a pebble, tossing it off the cliff and imagining it penetrating the other girls head. She’d learned in class that objects thrown from a great height, no matter how small, would kill anything they hit so if in the improbably case that the pebble did hit Akiyo, it would be no great loss to Ikara as it wasn’t really her fault – it was gravity and physics.

{OOC: Lol, thanks for replying Ikara ^-^ And Thanks for all that karma } Akiyo let out an annoyed sigh as she dragged her unwilling feet along. She knew she'd always been a bit of a trouble-maker, but did karma have to punish her this way?
She was getting surprisingly annoyed that the girl named Ikara suddenly decided to choose her as a target for her hatred. She barely knew the girl and she was already hated! Akiyo wasn't surprised, though. How could she be when villagers barely knew her, but passed her by, casting a disgusted glance anyways?
Before she could stop herself, she started to mentally rant, 'Who the hell does this kid think she is anyways? I barely know and she acts like I tried to kill her or something! Stupid brat! if it weren't the sake that some of this is my fault, I'd be happily in bed at home right now! That stupid, damn brat!'
Akiyo's temper flared mentally, as she let out a barely audible, vicious hiss. it was barbaric and practically dripping with malice, but that was who Akiyo was. She violently jammed her pale hands into her contrasting pocket jeans, glaring at everything but Kita.
it wasn't like she stole all of Ikara's attention or anything...not like she'd even want any attention. If she had, why would they be looking for her right now?
More to herself than her two traveling "companions" (for now anyways), she muttered, "What'd I do to make the kid hate me anyways? It's not like I know her, nor do I remember ever meeting her in the past."
Though her blurry childhood left that last statement open for arguments.
The young red-haired girl had always had a knack for peeving others without a single word or action done.
Of course, she was thinking of apologizing to Kita's younger sister earlier, but with the way she had mood swings, the thought was quickly disposed of. Now, she was more tempted to see how long it would take for the stranger to make her anger lash out violently again. And what her reaction would be. Of course, it'd be fairly violent, and with her lack of a conscience, she wouldn't care if she "accidentally" hurt the younger-looking girl.
Her excuse would be a simple, bratty, 'she was practically asking for it.' It wasn't like she'd never done worse and got away with it.
She glared at the cliffs that held Ikara and was tempted to let out a beastly snarl. She hadn't a clue why she was suddenly so furious, but she wouldn't be put down without a fight! Sure, many of the villagers saw her as scum, but she'd thought of them as much worse, labeling them off long ago. If they could judge her without knowing anything about her, she could damn well judge them the same way!
This time, she refused to go down, knowing that ignoring the thoughts were simple and that she could think of them just as badly. If it wasn't enough that she was first attacked by this girl, she had stomped off, acting like Akiyo was completely at fault. Now, Akiyo wouldn't stand by and let the brat insult and mock her and do nothing about it. As long as she still had her limbs and strength, she would definitely fight back. This would be the one exception she ever made to her code of ignoring others and staying isolated. Simply because Hyukari, Akiyo was not some wimp who would let people stomp over her. She wouldn't welcome insults like thieves welcomed money. No, she would inevitably fight back until she was as close to death as possible. It was her nature to be this competitive anyways.

[gaaaah sozzies :B]
As they trekked up the narrow path, Kita occasionally slowing down to allow the other two to catch up (it was a bad habit of his to walk faster than his companions as poor Ikara and Haruka frequently found out), he thought about many things.
Yes there were aspects of his life he didn't understand or appeared to have completely blocked out; whether due to trauma, selective memory or some outside factor, he didn't know but this girl stood as proof that events had occured in his life that he retained no knowledge of and this fact alone scared him.
What other things had he blocked out? Could there have been things he had forgotten that had led him to do some of the terrible things he had done? Could he possibly have avoided certain things if it hadn't have been for this apparant amnesiac spell?
Kita glanced at his watch; it was past 7pm and the sun was starting to set on the horizon, the orange hues fading into darkness. Suna was not a place to be in the night; a vanquishing desert by day, the heat driving many a shinobi insanse but by night, a deep chill set in as the sun hid itself. If they stayed out any later, they'd have too seek shelter in one of the caves.
Teorau sensed this too, Kita noticed, as his cousin whipped out a lighter and started to play with it.
Ikara looked at the sky; the sun was setting and gooseumps were beginning to form on her pale skin. She rubbed her arms to try and generate some heat; she'd left her jumper at home and things were starting to cool down up on the clifftop.
Feeling she'd sulked long enough, Ikara leapt to her feet and brushed off any sand clinging to her black shorts. The skin between her thighs and her knees was left exposed and chills ran down them.
Kita and the others would presumably be heading up here to collect her; she couldn't allow them to make the trek to the top - she wouldnt wish the Suna nights upon her worst enemy. So heading off back downhill to meet them, Ikara prepared for whatever conflict awaited her

Akiyo had kept a generally average pace. She never slowed or quickened. She was already reluctant to go meet face to face with Ikara and try to settle non-violent terms with her. The red-head teen wanted only to be in her cozy apartment, snuggled in her plain blankets. Rarely did she ever walk around in Suna at night unless it was absolutely necessary.
In most of the life that she remembered, Akiyo considered this possibly the most irritating "adventures" she'd taken. Her memory mostly started as her being a child thief and grew into a who she was now. Though her oddly pale face betrayed no trace of her emotions, she was almost seething in her mind and that was enough to keep her warm. It was rare that she could grow so irritated, seeing as it was hard to generate any emotions within her. But if she were kind in any way, she'd have to congratulate Ikara for being one of the few who could create such raging emotions within her.
Silently, she tried to cool down her growing temper. She silently wondered if perhaps this was how she was before her amnesia. Suddenly, she found herself almost curious about what other aspects of life she could've possibly forgotten. Had she ever had friends? Was she always so....odd to others?
Silent as a mute, she watched the sky darken as time passed. There was a comforting silence that hung in the air, making her feel almost comfortable and relieved. It may have been a bit tense or awkward to her two "companion," but she found sanctuary within it. To her, silence was a virtue. Perhaps to many, silence was boring, but for as long as she could remember, she'd never been talkative anyways. If she didn't also find comfort in boredom, she would've started searching for new hobbies long ago.
As seconds turned into minutes and passed like each of her steps, she found herself being captured by the image of the light in the sky fading. It was a slow process, but to watch the darkness slowly crawl in was a sight she rarely let herself enjoy. She had no social life, so she could watch the sunset whenever she wanted, but it was just knowing that she'd also have to be outside that made the idea less inviting. Despite her admiration for the beauty, her face remained passive.

The awkward silence bugged Kita who was passing the time fidgeting with the zip on his red hooded top; slipping his hands into the pocket on the front, he turned to Akiyo with an innocent but curious look on his face.
"Feel free to blank me and ignore my noseyness, just please don't take my head off," he bit his lip, unsure of his word choice as soon as the words left his mouth
"But d'you mind telling me a bit more about yourself?" He tilted his head almost coyly, looking at her. His green and blue eyes were tired from the earlier training and his current hike; if it hadn't have been for the time he'd have suggested taking a short break as his legs ached.
"I mean, i know you have some connection to us; looking like my little sister and sharing a last name are no mere coincidences. Chances are we're probably long lost very distant cousins but......" He chewed on his lip again as he picked his next words carefully, "It's just too coincidental to not be fate....our meeting that is"
He rated his chances of getting a grunt or a reaction, let alone a autobiographical reply very low
