The darkness in the small room welcomed the young woman with open arms. And once the door was closed behind her, there was no source of light anywhere. The little smile was no longer on her face. Her expression seemed to change completely. Tears appeared in the corner of her eyes, only waiting for allowance to fall. Although Takumi was one room next to hers, she still felt that familiar feeling.
Hishime dropped the pillow on the floor, soon followed by the blanket. The bag; she kept it tightly in her arms, pressed against her chest. She leaned against the wall with her side, like she was using it to keep her balance. Just staring in front of her was all she could do as she let herself slide down, and land on the cold floor. Her chest was aching, it was almost like her heart was trying to break free; like it wanted to flee and leave everything that has happened behind. Today had been a rough day for her, that was for sure. She was just exhausted. Three days of walking hadn’t done her any good. And still, she wasn’t sure if she had lost her little attacker. All the stress, and the fear of getting caught; it was driving her crazy. She didn’t wish for any of this. Like she had told him before; ‘That I could love, without any of this crap.’ If only, that wish would come true...
A single tear fell. And all the others; they came soon after. She missed him. She missed his messy, blue hair. His big grin as he had done something klutzy. The way he made up stupid excuses, and always managed to make her laugh. His beautiful green eyes, and the look he gave her when he told her he loved her. She missed his touch; how he wrapped his arms around her protectively. The feeling of his lips touching hers...
Slowly, the kunoichi pulled the bag away from her chest, and placed it on the pillow like it was some kind of treasure. She eyed her hand for a long time before pulling it back. The bandage around her hands was hanging loose from her pale skin; she hadn’t changed it for a long time, she guessed. With a trembling hand, she slowly unzipped her jacket. There was bandage around her stomach. And as the shinobi took off her jacket, more bandage was revealed around her arms. Bloodstains were slightly visible around her wrist-area.
From the moment he had asked her that question, ‘Do you have someone in mind?’, her chest had been aching like this. It made her feel warm inside when she thought about him, but at the same time, it was the worse feeling ever. Her eyes were red, her bottom lip shivering. Her cheeks were wet, and her head was hurting. Hishime wrapped her arms around her knees, and rested her forehead on them. She closed her eyes, but that didn’t stop her tears from coming. Dreaming was all she could do at the moment. Dreaming of the one she loved so much. Only dreaming, and wishing that she would be able to see him soon. One thing was for sure; falling asleep had never been easy for her...
