Yukito sat in the lake washing the remaining blood off of his hands. the body was destroyed so this was all that was left. he felt refreshed he had sucked the mans chakra until he could take no more. then gave him a merciful death. he thought for a moment of whether he should have made a shrunken head after the blade had bit into the mans neck. the ashes of the man where all but gone and drifted away. it was another meal. another fight that could have been avoided. another death on his hands but not the one that counted. not a death he truly had wanted.

Akiyo stopped momentarily in mid-step. She could've almost sworn she felt something burning in the air. The wind came from the west as it blew a stingy smell through her nostrils.
She wrinkled her pale nose in disgust at the smell, but her emotionless look was back on in a split second.
Her path towards the north area was re-routed as she headed west, curious what had caused the smell. In her life, she'd smelled many things before. Burning wood, blood, dirty socks. The list could go on. She concluded that the smell was from a fire, seeing as it had a smokey sort of scent. It couldn't be wood though.
After many missions to snowy lands, she knew what burning wood smelt like. It was a faintly pleasant smell followed by the scent of whatever kind of wood it was.
Her steps grew slower as a boy came into view. Carefully, she hid her chakra presence. She was curious why he was sitting in a lake. The glimmering water surrounding him was tainted with a rusty looking red. Automatically, the crimson-haired teen thought, 'Blood...'
She wasn't sure, but that was the only thing she could think of. After her many encounters with death. she had gotten good at telling the difference between the color of blood and another red liquid. Her nose searched the air for any kind of metallic smell, but was only greeted with fresh hair and pine trees. Her oddly colored eyes searched for any kind of wound on the stranger, but found none.
She silently inferred that he finished an assassination of some sort. She was a sharp-witted young girl. She remained as quiet as a mouse as she continued to observe.

Yukito finished washing his hands. He didn't like to be interrupted and his uninvited guest didn't. That was a very courteous thing to do. It seemed that some people actually still taught kids manners. If he had to kill them it would be a shame.
He checked his chakra it was back to 100% after draining the foolish man. Yukito knew that it was wrong to keep eating. Yukito picked his teeth with his long claw like nails. Maybe one more bite would be okay.
He stood up nice and slowly. He liked to take his time there was never a reason to rush. He yawned a nice long one.
He turned his head to the right not even looking over his shoulder at the person he was addressing. he simply said. "No one needs to know, little one. Some people deserve death."
His sword 'Nova' felt that it might be in use shortly. The stars on the blade began to shine brightly. Knowing his blade well enough he patted the hilt as if to calm it down.If it began to shine to brightly it would show even from in it's sheath.
Yukito looked lazily over the lake with his half open eyes. He looked as unenergetic as usual. He began to walk through the freezing water. He dropped his second bag in the lake. Damn dumbass had to attack him at the worst time possible.

Akiyo raised an eyebrow as the stranger addressed her. It quickly fell back down as she watched him pick his teeth with his odd looking nails. She was positive that some people would've described his nails as 'grotesque', but she preferred other, less insulting words, when it came to outer appearances. After all, she'd be a hypocrite if she thought his actions were creepy. Akiyo, herself, was different. She was one of the few people in Suna that treated the heat like it was nothing, and her looks were as different as her personality.
She could be as cold as ice, and her hair was an unusual red. Her eyes, one blue, the other green.
She smirked the slightest bit when he confirmed her suspicions that a kill had taken place. So her wit and senses hadn't dulled. She was almost glad.
She was almost tempted to throw some sort of pointy object at the man as her addressed her as 'little one.' Being called that, Akiyo felt as if she were a young child again. Innocent, idiotic. She shook away her temper. Did it matter? She chad been called a variety of words before. It wasn't any different.
Knowing she was spotted, she left her hidden spot behind the woodlife revealing her looks.
She sent a wary glance at the man, as he patted his weapon a bit. To be ready, her hands were poised near a variety of her own weapons, hidden between the folds of her attire. Her limbs were tilted and turned in just the slightest way. She was ready, and her pose wasn't at all suspicious.
She thought back to his previous comment of 'Some people deserve to die.' She felt the slightest need to comment, as she remarked, "Don't you mean many people deserve to die? After all, there are many who reach their teenage years that have already commited some of the deepest crimes."
She had been tempted to say 'sin' instead of 'crimes', but she wasn't religious. No...not at all. If she was, she'd probably be more likely to worry about having to spend her eternal afterlife in hell. Nope. Religion was just another pointless distraction to her.
She had mentally flinched at the sound of mismatched voice, as she always did on the very rare occasions she spoke. her voice was too feminine to match her sharp, icy looks. They had a natural silky, soft tone that was deceiving. Anyone who believed that the tone of her voice was a passage way to a kind girl hidden beneath the surface was terribly wrong. Her outer looks said it all. They were almost an exact match to her inner Akiyo. But of course, her "inner Akiyo" held many more secrets. Secrets that she would never tell even under the worst forms of torture.

Yukito walked deeper into the freezing water caring not for how it made him feel. A stronger reaction was needed to pretend to be normal. but normality was never one of his strong suits.
He brushed a way a chunk of ice floating in his way. Cold hands was one of the things he had gotten used to about himself. to always make others jump by the smallest touch. ((actually thats annoying. might be the reason why i'm a recluse.)) After being caught in that blizzard when he was 15 he was never really warm again. Nothing was cold enough.
The water was now up to his chest. His foot touched something. Yukito reached down submerging himself in the Ice cold water. And picked up what he called his bag of bones.
"Some or many. I haven't gotten to taste enough people to know. I can't judge every one. This man though." He reached in his bag and pulled out a suna headband. "He killed many children so i killed him." he pulled out a hoshi headband "A rapest." He pulled from up his sleeve the head band of the man he just killed and dropped it in his bag of bones. it clanged against the headbands of other ninja that Yukito had killed. "He was a highway man. Killing for money."
He looked over to the girl "Your only 6 or 7 years younger then me. Old enough to earn a place in my bag. Have you?" He looked the girl over catching every minuscule detail. He liked the way she looked. Her face was as delightfully pretty and cold as his heart was. He thought to himself "I love it. Though her problem was she sounded like she had a pretty and ignorant mind. Her eyes tell other whys that was always a good thing."
"It's going to be my birthday is about a month if you give me a gift it'll be the first one i've gotten in 20 years. hmm... or was it 21?"

Akiyo heard the high clanging of metal. She silently guessed that there were many headbands were in there.
She could almost say she was interested. So this man killed would-be criminals? She wanted to ask though, who was he to bestow judgment upon others? She raised an eyebrow when he said he was about 6 or 7 years older than her. 'So he's about 23 or 24...'
She wasn't exactly surprised. he didn't seem that old to her in the first place. A small spark flickered in her eyes as he asked her if she'd earned a place in his bag. She silently thought. He killed those who were somewhat 'evil.' Those who killed. Those who caused trouble. And she knew herself well enough to guess that her actions were just as bad.
She'd killed many who have begged for their lives before. After all, mercy was pathetic and if you begged to live, you didn't deserve to anyways. She killed those who annoyed her. Though that was back then and she'd long since learned to control her temper.
With a bit of a challenging edge to her soprano tone, she replied, "I don't know. Have I? It's for only you to decide."
Needless to say, she was almost shocked when he told her that his birthday was in a month. How did that suddenly pop up? She silently considered getting him a gift. He'd gone even longer than her without receiving any gifts, though her excuse could be that she hasn't even reached 20 years of age yet. She considered for only one reason. Because he almost reminded her of herself. He didn't look or act like a majority of people you met. He didn't seem to care about what others though either.
With a tiny smirk, she replied, "Maybe....what do you want?" It was odd...considering getting a gift for a complete stranger. Then of course, many things were odd in life.

((all clips from yukito's past that are not explicitly ninja are from mine. Including the two blizzards from hell.))
Just for the hell of it he put on an anbu mask. "Do you kill for no reason at all? If when you kill does it help some one or something? Or is it just a selfish killing? If you do then you just might have a place in my bag of bones."
Yukito drew his katana and made a swipe to his left and right. Two waves of energy went in both directions splitting the lake in half. He hopped up and shot across the water back towards akiyo before the water settled back down. He stopped just a little ways past where he had been cleaning his hands. still far enough from akiyo.
He sheathed his katana after biting it and releasing a load of chakra into it. This mask made him feel like murderer. He had never liked anbu. he dropped his katana to his side to show he didn't feel he had the need to kill her yet.
"I'd like to taste your pain. That's the only present i'd want from you. I want to know what makes you as you are." He said this seriously. He wanted to bite her and taste her pain through the link that he makes during the bite. He wanted her memories of hardships and know her as her tears streamed down her face. To Know her pain was the only gift he felt he wanted at the moment.
He'd accept chocolate he hadn't had any in two years. But her pain was number one on his wish list. He looked into Akiyo's eyes they gave nothing away. No emotion escaped her eyes. The so called windows to the soul. If that was true the girl had no soul.

Akiyo had been ready to fight, if any chance of a brawl came. When the man dropped his katana to his side, her back was as stiff as a board.
Trust no one.
She'd lived by that rule for years now. There was no possible way for her to trust anyone. She barely knew about her past, much less knew why everyone sent her odd looks as she walked by. For years and years, she'd accepted the fact that she'd be friendless until the day she died. Of course, when she did die, no one would care.
She knew nothing of her family. She had no friends. Akiyo barely cared.
She felt a cold breeze pass by as she snuggled into her jacket a bit more. Suna was nothing like this. She missed the warm rays of the sun. For as long as she remembered, she loathed missions to places with low temperatures. She felt like she was shoved into a freezer and was sure that her pale fingers were as cold as ice.
Silently, she stared at him. Listening. Her brain quickly assessed what he wanted. Her...pain? She was positive he meant physical pain.
For as long as she remembered, Akiyo could never remember her past. They were bits and chunks of blurry pictures. She knew that the person she was right now was nothing like the child Akiyo. And her memories. Would he be able to see the memories that not even she could see?
She thought back. Her earliest memories were around her teenage years. During those times, she remembered questioning herself about why people seemed to avoid her in every possible way. She's never cried though. She felt herself too strong-willed to allow herself to feel such pathetic feelings. Simply because at an early age, she already developed her own ninja code.
Trust no one. Befriend no one. Don't show weaknesses ever. The list could go on.
In the end, she would still be isolated and alone, but she didn't care.
But what if this stranger found out about a weakness in her past? Those memories, she couldn't even be sure of? But she knew that the child Akiyo and the Akiyo now were completely different. Weaknesses would be different. Strengths would be different. Everything would be different.
But what if he discovered a present day weakness? She carefully rummaged through her mind, looking for weaknesses. The only thing she could think of was him knowing about what she's done. The kills she's made. Her simple reasons. Her desire to know about her past. But that desire was small, and she simply wanted to know out of curiosity.
She continued to think. So far, she thought of nothing the stranger could use against her simply by looking through her past.
Perhaps he'd want to kill her, because she was a murderer herself, however changed she was. But she could defend herself. She wasn't a pathetic genin. She couldn't possibly be. Not when she'd trained every single moment she could.
Whatever doubts she had about the so called "wish" did not show in her glaring eyes.
Silently, she lifted one hand out of her warm jacket pocket to unzip her jacket slightly. She pulled the neck piece down, revealing her pale, vulnerable neck. There were a few scars decorating the milky white skin from past fights.
Without showing any kind of fear or doubt on her face, she muttered, "Go ahead. Look through my mind and find out what makes me, me. I don't think you'll find anything useful though...maybe a few things to give you a reason to despise me, but nothing too useful."
She almost chuckled at the irony of this situation. Here she was, about to let a nameless stranger take a chomp on her neck, while she barely trusted the villagers of Suna, whom she saw often.
"By the way...name's Akiyo...Hyukari, Akiyo."
Maybe he'd heard of her. She wasn't infamous or anything, but maybe he'd heard the rumors. Maybe he'd heard the over-exaggerated fibs. She could care less. After all, whether she lived or died didn't matter. She been close to death so often that she no longer feared the darknes that may very well make sure she never opened her eyes again. She gotten used to nearly dying, simply because it happened to her often. Dying itself didn't scare her a bit. She didn't have anything to live for, but she wasn't low enough to kill herself. No...she was simply wondering the Earth, remaining loyal to Suna until the very day she died.

Kakuta walked slowly up to the girl. she looked so stiff. like a deer trapped in someones headlights. that or she was tense and ready to tear his head off the second he let his guard down.
She looked lost in this world so out of place. like some one who even if they looked for a safe haven they would be turned away from every one at every corner of the world. civilization had no need for people like us. civilization turned it's back on me so i turned my back on civilization.
it was scary how similar she was to him. so similar that it was bothering him. why do i feel compelled to be near this kindred soul. i never needed any one like me or any one else. they turn there backs on me and hate me.
thinking about the many times he tried to fall in love or believe that he could be okay in this world. his heart repeatedly broken. his soul always stripped down to hate, pain, every thing that made him what he was today. the world around him teaching him that what he was was the wrong thing. that he needed to change to become like every one else. until he finally realized that they where all wrong. he didn't need them or anything like them.
there suger coated world was a load of crap and he was gonna flush it all. every single one of the people like anbu or the politicians like his step father that said he was in the wrong. the ones that hunted him even though they had no evidence for a crime that he didn't commit. they wanted him bad and he wanted nothing to do with them.
if they did a crime and he knew of it they would pay they would get a one way ticket into his goddamn bag of bones even if it cost him his life. those who condemn and judge others also need to be judged.
she sounded harsh as she spoke. he replied softly. "if i come to despise you then be sure to know that i am the one thats in the wrong. because i'll be a hypocrite. every one needs to be judged even me. but self judgment is a hard thing to do. i guess i'm a coward like that."
He brushed her exposed neck lightly. then he whispered. "Akiyo my name is Yukito Kyuuketsuki." it was the first time he had said his name in three years. he had never had a reason to say it. because no one ever cared about who he might be.
He prepared for the bite his mind cleared all up. he could feel every thing around him. He bent down and pressed his mouth to her neck for a moment. almost like brief kiss. He opened his mouth and bit down into her neck.
The link opened up in moments her thoughts and memories flooded into his head. But he hadn't expected to have two minds come crashing down on him from both sides. it was overwhelming. memories began to flow out to her as well as in to him.
when he was getting his head smashed through the bathroom wall by his stepfather. farther in the past when he got beat so bad that he went numb and fell asleep crying while still getting beat because it took so long. when he fell off of a high bar onto concrete as a child and got a concussion. when he was stuck in a desert for 2 days straight with only one water canteen.
the flow of memories kept going on and on in and out. he could eventually properly distinguish the difference between the two minds inside of akiyo. he dropped back away from her. he now had tasted her pain and now knew her secret. a secret she didn't even know.
he had drained her to much. he held her incase she stumbled with this much chakra removed it would probably be hard for her to even stand.

Akiyo winced slightly as she felt two fangs penetrate into her soft skin. It was uncomfortable having someone so near her. She was almost compelled to shove Yukito away, seeing as every single time anyone got this close to her, it was because they were trying to kill her.
She momentarily distracted herself by thinking of his kinder sounding words from before. she didn't feel any better. She didn't feel any worse. So he'd called himself a hypocrite and told her that if he started to hate her, it'd be his fault. But, she didn't believe that. It wasn't like he'd been born with a personality like this. It was the people around him that molded him into the man he was now. Yet, despite all that, she couldn't bring herself to blame everyone else, either.
And the way he spoke. Half of her told her that he wasn't lying, but her personal experience told her to believe no one. The last time someone was so kind to her was simply because it was their mission to befriend her and then assassinate her. She refused to believe in Yukito's words.
Long before she met him, she'd molded her own destiny. her lack of trust and confidence in others made her almost like a lone wolf. She didn't need any friends or family in her life. She believed that all she needed was her own strength, and she'd contentedly breeze through her destined-to-be short life.
No matter, Akiyo felt her precious chakra drain from her petite body. When the mouth released her neck, she winced slightly. Her knees felt wobbly from lack of chakra. She was almost certain that she would've fallen down. Only, her will power refused to let her look weak in front of anyone.
She wasn't sure if her neck was bleeding or not, but she wondered if the bite would leave, a scar. She took three steps away from Yukito, zipping up her jacket once more to stay warm.
She smirked scornfully as she bitterly muttered, "Looks like you know more about me than I do. Yeah, that's right, I don't know what type of girl I was when I was a simple child. Don't tell me though. I'd prefer finding out for myself. I don't rely on others to do my dirty work."
She stuck her ice cold fingers back into her empty pockets. Yeah, that's right. She didn't need Yukito to tell her who she used to be. That was the past, this is her now. She wouldn't be pitied. She felt herself far too high-ranked for that sort of thing.
She remembered the days where her memories first start. She was a teenager, gotten into too much trouble because she was shunned. Because she killed. But she learned to control herself. She was a quick learner and quickly taught herself her very own set of strict codes and laws. Luckily for her, no one ever found out about those bloodier times. And now, she was almost proud. She was respected well enough and completed her missions without a word of complain. She completed each and every one of them quickly and carefully.
Letting the scornful smirk wipe of her pale face, she muttered, "So now what? You gonna try to kill me? I mean, you HAVE seen the things I've done and my reasons. If you skipped over me out of pity, then that'd be when you're a true hypocrite."
Her words were tainted with malice, because she didn't want anyone to ever know when she was feeling weak. Akiyo almost glared viciously at Yukito, challenging him. She was completely aware that she was at a big disadvantage. She was in a cold climate, when she fights best in a hot climate. Her legs still felt like spaghetti. She had little chakra left. And most of all, she was freezing. The jacket wasn't big help, but no matter what, she'd never admit it outloud. She was already almost reluctant to admit it mentally. She had worn such a simple jacket, because she'd expected to quickly be back in Suna. She would be there by now, so she was off schedule, which rarely happened. She inwardly scowled, hating to be off track. As wimpy as it seemed, her feet were discreetly scooting back on the ground, ready to make a quick dash towards Suna. She'd lead on a chase until she had the advantage. That was, if he didn't respond to her cold words within a minute, she was simply leaving him here.

Yukito picked his katana back up and strapped it back over his shoulder. it was to long to go anywhere else it would drag all in the ground.
"Time makes a person who they are. Not god or destiny or anything else. Time and events. People make killers. Sinner breed sinners spreading like a parasite. If you wanna deny what you are if you wanna think or find a reason. it's the people you live closest to. they make monsters."
He knew his words could be harsh on many. He just didn't like to lie to any one. It wasn't something he did anymore. His world had no reason for crap like that. He noticed she was wearing only a flimsy little jacket.
"Your shivering." Yukito said before tossed his long coat at akiyo. He began to walk way from her but motioned for her to follow. "I can't kill you with good reason. You say you don't want me to tell you about yourself well i won't. But my reasons for not killing you are as sound as any." He thought even if i wanted the girl dead the other one is innocent. She has done nothing wrong. Would it be okay for her to pay the price of the sins of the other?
Yukito stopped at his little camp. He put on his bear fur coat. he didn't like to wear it in wet places it smelled funny if he did. "your body isn't used to this kind of climate. you need to rest. death is no escape from any thing." he didn't have to say that because if she was the type to kill herself she'd already be dead. but sometimes people just wouldn't admit it when they reached there limit.
He held out a spit roasted rabbit to akiyo. "Eat." he took a piece from it and eat it to show it was safe and then held it out again.

Akiyo swiftly caught the coat, but returned it just as quickly. With a slightly suspicious glance, she refused to eat, "I'm not hungry...it doesn't matter anyways. I'm planning to return home in a little while, so I won't die."
she was telling the truth. She was sick of seeing all this whit and her heart almost yearned to be back in her precious Suna, where she could bathe in the sunlight, once again.
She missed the shining star to the point where she didn't have to eat to regain her energy. Sure, she needed food to get her chakra back, but for now, she was getting mental energy just by thinking of her home. Yes, that was all she needed in order to have the strength to travel.
She was content with her memories, as her feet slowly carried her away from Yukito. It was already enough that she'd had his company for so long. It was unlike her, and she absolutely loathed change.
She refused to mellow out any more than she possibly could've in the past few years for some stranger. she would refuse to change for even her own family, if she even had any.
She was aware of her low chakra currently and the fact that he noticed she was shivering. She was certain that after she was in a running pace, heading for home, she would warm up. And she was rarely hungry anyways. Before she claimed Suna as her home, she often went days without food. She still could.
Besides, if there was ever an ambush, she wasn't too bad at taijutsu either. She would think of this travel almost as training. If you were low on chakra and had to travel...yes, that sort of training.

Yukito watched her go. "oh well and she goes like she's supposed to." he flung the anbu mask at her. "thats yours i don't need that particular bone." he sat down and began to eat the rabbit as if nothing had ever happened. His eyes drooping and seemed to be half asleep again like he tended to always look.

Akiyo quickly caught the ANBU mask, staring at the intricate design. Somehow it seemed a bit familiar. She mentally thanked her fast reflexes.
The curved mask looked....familiar. She stopped dead in her tracks as she remembered.
What seemed like long ago, was a time when she had almost dreamt of being an ANBU member. She was obviously too unskilled at her young age of 16. She had stopped in front of a shop, admiring the beautiful mask. Immediately, her attention was drawn away by the joyful little jingle of a bell. She eyes scanned her surroundings, watching as the door to the shop opened and a young man stepped out. He held the mask she was admiring in his hands. She watched, trying to be discreet.
Unfortunately, like the skilled ANBU member she suspected him to be, he noticed her stare. His eyes met her cold ones. Instead of turning away, looking disgusted, or giving her a dirty, scowling look, he kept his eyes on her. He gave her what seemed to be a small smile, before he was swept away into the crowd.
At that time, she was amazed, though a cold look still decorated her pale face. No one she could remember ever smiled at her, or looked at her without disgust. he had sandy colored hair that reminded her of Suna, and his skin was a slight tan. His chocolate brown eyes held a soft look that wasn't pity. He seemed kind. she mentally compared him to her Kazekage-sama, fully aware that she was more infatuated with the far-above her shinobi. The ANBU captured her attention, like the few others who ever could.
She didn't feel malice or annoyance when she looked at him, but she felt almost calm. Of course, that was the only time she'd ever seem him and it didn't change her from the ice-queen that made Akiyo, Akiyo.
She just felt that maybe not all humanity was pathetic. Maybe there was some hope. Of course through the many months, she gradually forgot about him and the mask and her false hope. Mentally, he brows crinkled in a bit of confusion. Had he given her this, knowing she'd recognize it? Or was it just pure innocence that he'd given it to her?
Her signature emotionless look graced her face as she stopped dead in her tracks, turned slightly, and asked Yukito with her usual icy voice, "The man you killed for this mask....What did he look like?"

He turned his head to the side and addressed her as he did when he fist talked to her. As if he had just noticed her there. "He looked like my older brother with lighter hair. He entered a village looking for a criminal that i had killed." he paused then turned around and faced her. he crouched there on the balls of his feet. "He smiled. Even as he died he smiled. He died a good death. when reinforcements came he and i had to team up and he died... with that smile always looking like things could actually get better." he picked up a stick and sketched him in the dirt. "From what i know he didn't belong in my bag. And you don't belong in here so i'm giving him to you." when he was done with the sketch he turned back to his things and sat there thinking about how he wanted to die when he did. He whispered. "A mans death."
