Without a word on his part, Makoto traveled into the Konoha Wood, his eyes growing accustom to the darkness with every step he took. The boy stepped over fallen trees, ducked under branches and dodged thorn bushes as he went along his silent way. Without looking back to make sure Eri was with him, Makoto only focused on himself, his own priorities. He had also rejected to offer her a say in the matter and picked the place himself, it was dark and seluded, just as he liked it. He was still not sure what drove him to allow Eri to follow him, she seemed strange, staring at him before and always smiling. Grunting, the boy didn't allow himself to look back.
Finally reaching a clearing, Makoto sighed to himself and found a thick trunk to lean against. Despite the lack of trees occupying this part of the Wood it was still dark enough for him. Crossing one ankle over the other and leaning against the tree, Makoto folded one arm over the other and looked away. He closed his eyes softly, an excuse to avoid averting eyes with Eri just yet. Shifting his shoulders, the boy turned back to where he thought the girl was and opened his eyes, a frown on his lips.

Eri had not known why she had taken an interest in the sullen, and rather temperamental Makoto, or why she was pursuing him through unfamiliar territory; but Eri was doing so, praying to anyone and everyone she didn't get lost in this forest. She had to go though several obstacles, ripping up her kimono as she did so, but kept on.
Finally she saw him, leaning agaist a tree trunk, his eyes closed. Eri said nothing but blinked a few times when he fixed his eyes on her, a frown on his face. She licked her lips, about to say something, but the words died on her lips and she looked down at the ground.

Staying completely still, Makoto continued to glare at her with barely any expression as his face. He sighed softly with boredom and turned away again, eyes rolling around the tops of the trees. The silence was awkward for the boy but he was used to it and showed no discomfort on his pale but handsome face. A bit of annoyance was shone in his eyes and the boy frowned deeper.
"So, you ask if I want to leave with you then don't talk?" his voice was flat but cold.
Warmth wasn't quite his thing, neither was kindness. Then again those two things went hand in hand, and Makoto wasn't the kind of the person to openly accept others. He learned trusting other people never turned out for him, and he didn't want to make the same mistakes again. Although it cost some hurt emotions (mostly on the other's persons side), Makoto knew he had to keep his heart safe, even if it meant hurting someone else's.

Eri mentally winced at his words, but looked up at him, shrugging. "Well, I hadn't really thought of something to say, and if I had just talked for the sake of doing so, then that would have been really pointless and would make me seem like a fool in your eyes, wouldn't it?" She asked, walking over to him.
(ooc: ahaha this is so awkward! the opinionated, cheerful, dunce alone with the intelligent, cold-hearted prince of the dark XD)

ooc; Sorta like a Tamaki and Kyouya story -cracks up- x3
bic; His eyebrow raised as she spoke and he grunted when she mentioned the word 'fool.' The boy looked at her with a cold stare and scoffed, "you look like a fool already to me," he response was short yet filled with truth. Unfortunately that's how Makoto felt about most happy people, always looking on the bright side until something horrible happens to them and they feel disappointed.
It had already happened to him and Makoto always learned from his past mistakes. Never trust. Never hope. He just lived his life in solitude and struggled to keep it that way, no matter how much he actually like the other person.

(ooc: XD it's exactly like that!)
Eri gave Makoto a half grin. "I was expecting that sort of reaction from you." She was now sitting on a fallen log near the tree he was leaning against.
"Well, that's fine by me. A lot of people think I'm a fool, you are just one more." She said cheerfully, pulling out a bag of her homemade sweets and eating one, offering the bag to Makoto.

Narrowing his eyes, Makoto took a few steps back, leaving the comfort of the tree trunk and turning away with his hands in his pockets. Only looking at her from the corner of his eyes he glared at the bag and shook his head slowly, rejecting his voice box, the boy simply scoffed once more.
"No wonder you're so happy, you're just hung up on sugar," frowning at this, Makoto glared at her again, eyes shining with a coldness only he posessed.

Eri frowned at him, pocketing the bag. "Well, you obviously don't know me all that well. I'm not always so happy, and I'm not hung up on sugar either. False judgements shall get you nowhere in life, Makoto."
She tossed him a large bag made of blue fabric; containing all manner of food stuffs, sweet and not; meals and snacks. "I just enjoy making food, as it is one thing that pleases people I care about. I rarely keep anything I make...as it tends to overflow my house." She finished sheepishly
