Chitsuki sat underneath a cloudy sky, The air smelt like it always did right before a storm. She loved the scent.
The park had been mostly abandoned, at the sight of the approaching rain, but Chitsuki hadn't left. There was something about the whipping breeze, the cool air, the sheer wildness of a rainstorm, that she loved. So she stayed, swinging back and forth on the old children's play ground.
The breeze made her think of another, from a distant memory of her child hood. One that had been salty with the sea. She smiled slightly as she thought about the tug and pull of the stormy waves.
A sudden thought came to her. Chitsuki jumped of the swings, and, grabbing her bag, walked to the bench wear little children's' parents would sit and watch their off spring play. she tucked a stray strand of her onyx hair behind her ear, a pensive look in her sapphire eyes, and the produced a black pen and notebook from her pack. Quickly she began to write, letting the words flow though her.
Taste of salt on my lips
The cold caressing me
With its gossamer touch
The stormy sea, rocking me
As the summer breeze
Sings a lullaby
And I never want to wake
From this dreaming
I want to know the feel
Of the angry ocean's waves
If stay here
In this place
Lit only by
Imaginary moonlight
Will the waters claim me?
Will the waters heal me?
Will the rain storm take me
And wash away my fears?
Clean away the blood
The dirt on my skin?
Will it lock away my memories
So I'll be whole again?
And I want to
Forget the biting gale
Of winter
The harsh, icy words
It left whispering at my core
I want to let my own voice
Be the thunder this time
I don't want to
Hide from the lightning
Let the ocean take me
Let the waters claim me
Let the raindrops sing their
Soft lullaby
I hope I never wake
From this dreaming
The only way to keep myself
From becoming opaque
And unreachable by light
I want to transcend beyond
What I always knew
Let the tempest take control of me
'Till there's no one left but you
I'm gone and I am one with the sea
And still I don't exist
I want to move beyond these walls
Fencing me in
The feel the
Sea salt on my skin
To let the storm consume me
So I'll be whole again"
When she reached the last line, she read it softly to herself, unsure whether or not to continue. She didn't know where it had come from, whether it was supposed to be a poem or a song, or even if it was any good. She never seemed to know about the things like that. But she liked writing her little.... what ever they were.
As Chitsuki smiled at the black ink, the first rain drop fell on her face, running down her cheek like a teardrop.
Quickly, she stuffed the journal in her bag, and then hesitated, tilting her face and holding her hands up so that the drizzle could run over her.
She heard a voice behind her...
