Lightning's Destruction

Kuri walked along a path boredly. There weren't any girls for him to flirt with, Katsuo was on a mission, Yuchii was in Suna visiting Kami, and Akiko was still sleeping at home.
When he tried to wake her up, she punched him right on the head.
He rubbed the spot where she punched him and winced a bit.

[Kyo]

Kiko walked along her favorite path,completely thinking that no one knew about it but her.She had discovered it a few weeks ago,and found that it was a good place to listen to her music,not to mention sing at the top of her lungs without bothering anyone. At least,that's what she thought.She swished her long silver hair over her shoulder,and stuck it up in a ponytail.So she switched on some Kelly Clarkson,and started singing.Loudly.Very loudly.She continued down the path at a leisurely pace.

[cherrychi]

Kuri heard singing and went towards the source.
There he found a girl, his age, with silver hair and it was she who was singing.
He smiled at her and said, "Your singing is wonderful..."
Usually his smile would melt any girl's heart but he sensed something different about this one...

[Kyo]

Kiko stopped walking and pulled off her headphones and smiled back at the boy."Thanks!,"she chirped.Then she blinked her big purple eyes at him."I didn't think anyone else knew about this path,since I have been coming here,and I haven't seen anyone else on this path before,"she said."By the way,I'm Kiko,"she said,flashing him a smile and sticking out her hand.He looked nice.

He smiled and shook her hand, "I'm Kuri"
He took a deep breath and replied, "I wander around in the woods when I'm bored and this spot is my favorite because if I'm stressed, it clears all the thoughts from my head when I get here..."
He pointed over to a nice view of the lake you could see from the spot and said, "The view of the lake is also pretty."

[Kyo]

"Nice too meet you,Kuri,"Kiko said softly,looking out at the lake. "You're right,it is very pretty,"she agreed.
Kiko leaped off of the path and into a tall chestnut tree.There were no chestnuts at this time of year,sadly.Kiko loves chestnuts.
She climbed to a pretty good height,then peered out to look at the lake.It sparkled in the clear sunlight from this height even more."Wow,"Kiko breathed."It looks even prettier from up here!Come look!,"she called down to Kuri.

Kuri climbed up and sat next to Kiko. "It is!", he agreed. "But not as much as you...", he mumbled so that she wouldn't hear.
For some reason, it was like he could speak normally to every other girl but Kiko.
Kuri sighed a bit. It was like feelings were bunching up where his heart was and it was confusing him. What was so different about Kiko?
"It's very pretty...", he said a bit slowly.

[Kyo]

Kiko shook herself.She felt....weird.Like her heart was doing backflips in her chest.She shook herself again,and looked at Kuri. "Did you say something?,"she asked.She thought she heard him say something.it sounded like "Not as much as you," but that couldn't have been what he said.And yet....
Well,Kuri was a little different.Not in a bad way!Just....deifferent.Different than other guys Kiko's ever met,for sure.He's...nicer.

[Kira]

Kuri realized he mumbled it out loud and quickly replied "No!"
He had a sudden flashback.

~Flashback~

Katsuo had come back from training and did not look happy. “KURI!” he yelled out angrily. Kuri came through a doorway, a little nervous and replied “Yeah?”
Katsuo glared at Kuri and asked “Have you been flirting with all the girls again?”
Kuri gave a weak smile and nodded.
Katsuo glared harder and raised his voice, “WELLM STOP WITH YOUR STUPID FLIRTING BECAUSE THE STUPID GIRLS YOU FLIRT WITH THINK I’M YOU!”
Kuri shrunk back a little. Katsuo made him nervous when he was made because when he was mad, Katsuo would most likely do something pretty violent. It amazed Kuri a little at how Katsuo could be so emotionless around strangers, yet be pretty angry around his friends.
Kuri knew this happened a lot. He would flirt with a lot of girls and then they would claim to be his girlfriend, then unluckily, Katsuo would come by and the girls would confuse Katsuo with Kuri and crowd over Katsuo, arguing about who was his girlfriend.
Finally Katsuo took a deep breath and mumbled in a threatening voice to Kuri: “Find a girlfriend and stay with her, or don’t flirt at all!”
With that said Katsuo stomped off, leaving Kuri to think about what happened, winding up in him being in the woods.

~End of Flashback~

He stared off a bit into space, thinking partially about what Katsuo said.

[Kyo]

Kiko waved her hand in front of Kuri's face. He looked a bit deep in thought, like he was remembering something. "Kuri? You okay?," she asked. then she mentally slapped herself. 'I shouldn't have interrupted his thoughts,' she thought herself. 'He may have been thinking about something pleasant.' Kiko knows how much she likes to daydream, and usually at the most inconvenient times. Like, from back in the acadmey days, she would nod off when the sensei was telling the class something important.
Suddenly, Kiko started to slip off the branch. "Woah!," she yelled, trying to get her balance again.

[Kira]

Kuri was a bit dazed, after snapping out of his thoughts, but immediately snapped out of the daze when he heard Kiko yell out.
He quickly reached out and grabbed her hand, and helping her back onto the tree branch, before he even had time to process what had happened. He just did what instinct told him to do: help someone in need.
He felt a slight fluttery sensation in his stomach, but ignored it, thinking it was nothing and concentrating only on Kiko's safety.

[Kyo]

Kiko felt herself being pulled up back into the tree. Her heart skipped a few beats, whether it was from the near injury or Kuri's touch, she had no idea.
She fixed herself more comfortably on the tree branch, and scowled at the trunk. "Evil tree....Dropping me like that," she seethed at it. 'Real nice, Kiko,' a voice said inside her head. 'Talking to inanimate objects.'
Kiko ignord it. "Thanks a lot,Kuri! I probably would have gotten pretty hurt if I had fallen!," she said, still unaware that she was still grasping Kuri's hand.

[Kira]

Kuri smiled at Kiko and replied "No problem!" He was also un-aware that he was still holding Kiko's hand.
When he realized, moments later, he pulled his hand away, and felt a blush rise up on his cheeks.
"Am I falling in love? I've always held other girls' hands and I never blushed before or felt the need to pull away, yet I do now? What's happening to me?" he asked himself.
He flirted with a lot of girls before, but not one of them had ever made him feel like the way he did, when he was around Kiko.

[Kyo]

Kiko felt Kuri's hand pull away from hers. Her palm tingled, like an electric shock had just ran through it. She blinked a couple of times. 'Why'd he have to let go....,' she thought, pouting slightly, and then she stopped,and blinked a few more times. 'Why did I object to him letting go? It makes no sense...'"Umm...Kuri...," she whispered. "You didn't have to let go."
She shook her head a bit, wondering why she was starting to feel so weird. Kiko wasn't used to this kind of attraction to someone. It was as if....as if she was falling in love with him.

[Kira]

Kuri blushed a bright red and stuttered, "Um...I-I t-thought that you would feel u-umcomfortable if I kept holding your h--hand."
He was a bit shocked that he was stuttering and even blushing. "Either I'm going crazy, I'm sick, or I like Kiko, but that's not possible seeing as I'm a flirt and won't stay with one girl for long- wait! What am I saying? UGH! I think I AM going crazy!", he rambled in his head, trying to figure out his own feelings.
