Kyokki ran her golden eyes over the street that stretched out in front of her, bathed in the winter afternoon sunlight.
"Can it really be February here?" she wondered, as the breeze softly played with hair, and that of the people passing by her. It couldn't have been any cooler than 60 degrees Fahrenheit outside, but when she had last been in Ame it was below freezing, and still raining.
The night Amane-obachan and I escaped...
She shook the thought away, and glanced at the citizens, many of whom were giving her funny looks, some of which were less than welcoming. She shyed away, and then tried to reassure herself.
"I have just as much right to be here as they do," she said with false conviction, unaware she was speaking out loud, "It's my birthright. My mother was Tenkiame Mitsukai, a Konoha kunoichi. It's in my blood. We always placed so much importance on bloodlines back in Ame. I wonder if they do here, as well? But it doesn't really matter. I'm not from Ame, I'm not a Ame missing nin, heck, I'm not even really a Hisakata anymore, since I gave up Otousan and Obachan's last name. I'm just another Tenkiame of Konoha. And it's my birthright to be here, no matter what they think."

The warm rays from the sun kissed Kita's neck, sending shivers down his spine. He turned to look at the sun, wincing as the sunbeams shone into his black and green eyes. It was so peaceful today; it seemed that at long last, he was getting the day off he deserved.
Not looking where he was going, he narrowly avoided walking into a young girl who was ranting out loud, and apparently not to anyone in particular.
"You know.....talking to yourself in public isn't the best way to make friends around here," He joked, smiling at her sweetly. "Im Kita by the way,"

Kyokki blushed brilliantly at the stranger named Kita's words.
Nice going, Tekiame, real nice going she thought to herself.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't reallize I was talking out loud. My name's Tenkiame Kyokki. but if you heard all of that, I guess you already knew that little fact."
She managed to smile.
"So...hi. Oh, hajime mashite, by the way, Kita-san."

"Kochira koso majime mashite" Kita nodded respectfully at her. "So im guessing you're not local then?" He inquired, recalling her apparent hostility towards the other villagers attitudes. "Don't worry about it, they may appear hostile and unwelcoming but after previous attacks on the village, they have every right to be wary of outsiders like us; even im watched closely at my hotel and i'm here on government business!" He laughed.

"Government business?" Kyokki questioned, curiously, "Which village? And yeah, you're probably right. I'm just too used to the reception people give tourists, as opposed to immigrants, I guess."
She looked at the looming silhouette of the Hokage Mountain. From here, you could just barely see the cut scratching across one of the leader's faces- the Sandiame she guesses from the posistion. She suddenly realized that she didn't really know as much of this Village's history as she had thought.

"Suna," He answered her question about his origins. But alas, that was the only details he could divulge at the moment. "Can't tell you why im here though...Kazekage's orders. Plus my sister would have both our heads if i blabbed!" He forced a laugh but in reality, he wasn't joking. Her temper appeared to be getting worse as her frustrations at not being able to fight pented up.
"So you're a tourist then? Chose a good village to visit!" He smiled

"Oh, no, actually I'm not. I just moved here. Normally I'ma tourist though; I've traveled with my Aunt for years. And then one day we went to visit home...and suffice to say it was over. So I moved here to live's with Kaachan's family. Changed my last name and everything." Wanting to change the subject, she asked, "What's your sister like?"

He had regretted mentioning Ikara the moment he'd mentioned her name as it was a subject he'd rather avoid. However, Kita felt he owed the girl some form of explanation as he'd already avoided one of her questions. "Ah my little sister.....that's one girl you don't want to try to understand. Split personality and a permanent PMS," He joked; laughing about these things was the only way to stop him hurting. It was partly his fault she was this way but he still harboured some hostility towards her. Changing the subject yet again, he asked "So where did you move from?"

Kyokki could sense that Kita was avoiding the question, with out really doing it outright. That was okay, though. She was interested, a little curious, but she let it drop.
"I'm from Ame," she said quietly, not bothering to add the "missing nin" part. she decided it probably wouldn't go over too well around here. "But, really, i'm from a bit of everywhere. Before I came here I lived part-time in Kinu no Kuni, part time on the road, and in hotels and timeshare houses in the different villages, but my parents raised me in Ame. I haven't stayed in one place for very long in years. So I'm from a bit of everywhere I've been."

"You're just like me then!" Kita smiled, glad she hadn't pressed him further for answers "Abandoned my village about....hmm...i'd say 4 years ago due to something i'd done and since then, i've just been wandering aimlessley from village to village. Only reason im not classed officially as a Missing-Nin is because my sister works for the Kazekage and he figures i'll come in handy at some point," His attitude was very nonchalant and relaxed. He wouldn't divulge his crime but he wasn't going to hide the fact that he had committed one. If someone couldn't accept him for him, he didn't want to know them!

Kyokki felt the relief seep over her face; she felt more relaxed immediantly after what Kita said. Which was really, when you thought about. more than just a little strange. After all he had just admitted he had comitted some kind of crime. But she realized she didn't care all that much. Yet another thing her travels had taught her-
Everyone had a past. and everyone was keeping some kind of secret. It sounded pessamsitic, but it wasn't. It made people more interesting, if a little harder to cope with.
"Yeah," she admitted, "Ame wouldn't open it arms if I came back again, either. Though shoot me if I knew what I had done was illegal."
