The tips of Rinsaku's fingers crawled along the surface of the dusty boulder she was hanging on. One hand was bolted steadily into a sharp crevice, a thin line of her skin was tearing to reveal a dark crimson line, the other hand was the one searching for another steady hold. More dust fell into her face, falling into her eyes, up her nose, and onto her hair. She breathed out hard and shook her head to remove most of the dust. Her eyes started to water, but she kept them open. She couldn't lose sight of the indentation in the rock. Rinsaku stretched her arm out, only the very tips of her fingers could reach. A grunt escaped her as she let her arm fall back down to her side. Meanwhile, her other hand was aching. She had no foot holds and holding on like this much longer was something she couldn't do.
A calm wind blew past her and Rinsaku concentrated, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath at filtered the crisp air through her lungs. Planting her feet sideways on the boulder, she pushed off of it. Her hand gabbed the smooth indentation of the other crevice, but it didn't hold long. The crevice was too smooth and her hand had been too sweaty. She fell a few feet and quickly flipped on to her back. Dirt and rock billowing around her as she started her decent. Putting her hand to her thigh, Rinsaku flipped open the button of the cache on her leg and took out a kunai. Sliding down the face of the boulder faster now, she flipped on to her stomach and dug the kunai into the rock as hard as she could, hoping to catch a weak spot. Sparks flew around her from the metal on rock and about twenty five feet later, her fall stopped. She let out a small yelp at her sudden stop which now caused her to be swinging violently back and forth. She breathed heavily, trying to cough out the dust that flew into her lungs. As it all cleared, Rinsaku looked down the smooth face of the boulder, her swinging moving to a minimum.
It was a rather large boulder, it protruded from the side of one of Kumogakure's mountains. Nothing but more rock and a vast forest stretched beneath her. Closing her eyes, she swallowed hard, her throat felt like sandpaper. Rinsaku looked back up, if she could guess, she'd say she just fell about thirty feet, maybe more. Around her, there was nothing but smooth rock. No possible way for her to get back up, at least getting back up the hard way. Sighing in defeat, she dropped her head. Rinsaku saw it as being her only choice. Concentrating the chakra into her hands and feet, Rinsaku swung herself back on to the rock face. Looking almost cat like, she bound to the top of the boulder she was attempting to climb.
As soon as her feet touched level surface, Rinsaku put a supporting hand to her hip, but it stayed there for about half a second before she felt a sudden sting. Wincing, she pulled her hand away, smearing the sticky substance that was her blood. She watched the crimson liquid as it glistened in the rising sun. It moved slowly over a thick, recently re-angered scar. A familiar trickling sound caught her attention. She wasn't at the top of the mountain yet, but she was still pretty high. The air was thinner up here and she wes breathing heavily. There was a pretty big lake up here. Following the sound, she found the lake. A smooth stone hung about two feet above it. Rinsaku padded on to it, she'd taken her shoes off. Her feet aching and her legs scratched, she dipped them into the cold water. It stung a little, but then numbed up again as the cold washed over it. Hands at her side, Rinsaku leaned over to look in the water. It was crystal clear, her reflection distorted in the ripples her swishing feet made. Small red swirls of blood intricately made their way through the water before they disappeared. Rinsaku sighed and leaned back, her cut hand in her lap while her other supported her up.
Rinsaku sat by herself. An unnatural sense of serenity, moved through her. Closing her dark brown eyes, she tilted her head slightly upwards. A crisp wind, violently started whipping around her. The long arms of the tied forehead protector on her head, snapped loudly around her ears. Her auburn hair, licking at her cheeks as the wind caused it to flow chaotically around her. Her once quickly pounding heart, slowed to a steady beat...
