Character Help (for a noob)

Sorry, I'm completely new to this, so... well, before I try submitting a profile, could I have some help with a few things?

First of all, for a name... I like Takumi, but shouldn't I have a family name? Plus, which order are they in, traditional Japanese format or English?

Next up... village. I don't know which one to pick; I should have one that suits my character, shouldn't I? At least as far as element, right? Takumi's is water (as one might gather from the name)... Kirigakure, maybe? That seems like it might be the best choice...

Don't be sorry for needing help. It's perfectly normal and that's what the staff is here for her.

Takumi sounds like a good name. As for the clan name, yes you should have one. You can look for surnames on the internet quite easily, or you can always make one up that souds... Japanese like.

Next: order. You can do it either way. We have different members do it in different ways. I'll use my character's name for an example. So you could do it: Kunimitsu, Haruka. Or you could do it: Haruka Kunimitsu. Either one.

The village is your choice. I thing Kirigakure sounds very good for your character, and the elemental reasoning sounds very good.

Yes, I think Kirigakure would be my best bet in this case. So do I post the profile application under Mist Village, then? I hope I'm not forgetting anything (though obviously I didn't ask about the entire process; I think I can manage a few things on my own)...

Well, you don't have to pick a real character, actually you can't, do to the 'no cannon contact in profiles' rule.

Usually, people just make up a sensei on there own, like another original character. If you want to name the sensei that is fine, but most people don't.

If you go into the profile section, there's a template for character creation :3

Name - Japanese sounding name
Age
Rank - appropriate to age (eg. a 13 year old Jonin isn't allowed!)
Village
Appearance - in words; at least 100
Personality - at least 100 words
Background - a brief summary of your characters past

As for joining a village, it's simple!

Decide what village you want to hail from and put your profile in there
