@_@ I think I'm partly to blame for Kenran's death. I mean, I absolutely love RPing, except I haven't really even had anything to reply to lately -_-'
Well, at first I was desperate to RP down to the point of begging, except people rarely reply to me... And now I occupy myslf with FF.net.
I apologize for my inactivity lately, and I swear I'll start RPing again (though my posts will be quite rusty)!
When you talk about some of the people in the c-box, well I guess I'd be included, since I do go there often....just to talk to friends... Yup...guilty TT~TT
Well lately, school's been just occupying a lot of my time, so I haven't visited as often and there's never anything for me to reply to anyways ^^'
So yup, I apologize for contributing to the coming death of Kenran. But seriously, I'll really want Kenran to stay, because it's special to me. It's the first RPing site I've ever joined and I met many of my friends here, so if Kenran dies, I think many will go down with it (including my love for RPing).
Inactivity, I can't really say there's any specific reason on it. Maybe some got tired of waiting for responses, maybe others got peeved by someone and ditched. Who knows? Possibly, some even forgot the existence of Kenran -__- I was actually thinking about it and economics might actually be an issue too.
If anyone other than me is a politics nerd, then you've heard a lot about Wall Street going down the drain and that America is trillions of dollars in debt (seriously, how can we get THAT much into debt?!?). Because nearly everyone middle class citizen needs money right now, some members might've cut computer time to get a job and help out their families, or maybe just stopped going on their computers so much to save some money on the electric bill. (Though this is assuming any teen is even noble enough to do this.)
I just think it odd that on many sites I go to, many members have disappeared. On Quizilla, a lot of members suddenly died or something, because the never sign on, though this may just be because of that big Quizilla change, but it doesn't explain why the population on other sites are also dropping like flies.
Seriously though, I think the problem was there for a while now. The last time I looked back, I did a sort of statistics thing. Out of the 100% of members who joined, about 50% ditched after right after they created an account. Then 25% of the remaining didn't read directions while creating a profile, and wound up leaving, because they're supremely mary-sue-ish RP character was not approved. (I admit my first few characters ever created was so mary-sue that it was scary, but I tried, and now I think that they're not that mary-sue anymore. ) Then 20% of the remaining 25% just disappeared. Now, there is just us remaining 5% -.-
I know that it sounds sort of harsh, but I truly think that was what most of the accounts are like.
Then of course, I'd like to apologize to Ikara and our mods, because I know you're trying hard to make Kenran live and I've been quite disloyal to Kenran. I really appreciate the hard work you put into watching over this site, though it seems as if I don't.
Though I don't think I even have a right to say this, I agree with the whole activity check thing. The inactive member's accounts should be deleted, because currently, they're just taking up space and collecting virtual dust. If the owners of the accounts come back, then its their fault for ditching in the first place.
Then maybe delete some of the old threads that no one responds to anymore. After, Kenran can get a fresh sort of start.
I personally think that by leaving all those unused accounts on, it gives Kenran a bad image. It sort of says that these members left because they didn't like Kenran, and with the amount of dormant accounts, the message seems supremely negative.
Anyways, I probably have no right to even be ranting, so I apologize. And of course, I apologize once again for my inactivity on Kenran T-T
