Anti-Valentines Sentiments

I'm drowning in a sea of pink and fluffy and paper hearts and...ugh! Kyokki thought, disgruntled, as she looked around the surrounding store aisles. It was enough to make her loose her bearing(sp?)- and her lunch.

"Enter Valentines Day, also known as "Singles Awareness Day", and "One of the Greatest Marketing Schemes in History" It sure makes the dateless among us feel just great." She grumbled mentally. Guess who would be in the ranks of the "singles" on V-day for the eigteenth year straight- unless she miracously found a crush and a date by tomorow?
She glared at a particuarlly innocent-looking teddybear.

suta really hated valentines day since he always seemed to have someone until like a month before valentines day and then they would break up or at least thats how it went for the past few years which really sucked.

suta saw all the pink and stuff and it made him vomit, after all he hated pink and velentines day is single awareness day for those who do not have anyone. suta decided it might be better to just go to bed and wollow in self pity there or just get in a fight with someone to keep his mind of his lonliness.

"An anti-Valentines CD, like the one I used to have, that's what I need," Kyokki realized, talking half to the bear and half to herself.

The over-sized stuffed animal just stared back at her with its plastic golden eyes and sappy smile, which on any other day, she would have found adorable. Any day but the "V-Day".

"You know, Amane-bachan probably still has the old one. If I know her at all, and I should after all this time, she's probably hiding in a hotel room somewhere, pillow over face, trying to drown out the outside world with the old CD. And maybe eating something particularly un-sweet. I can't imagine that part of her's gonna change anytime soon.

"I guess I'll just make a new mix when I get home."

She started to plan out the disk and its contents, still unconsciously talking out loud. she had just decided to use a black CD to burn it on, and use her computer program to burn the words "V-day is a Four-Letter Word" across the front in white with the picture of a broken heart. As she turned around she was listing the songs that would go on it- she thought "You Oughta Know", "Not the Doctor" "Wake Up" and "Right Through You" by Alanis Morissette as well as "Going Under" by Evanescence would work nicely- when she saw a stranger. From the look on his face he had hear d all of that. She sweat dropped.

"Um...any suggestions?" she feebly joked, feeling majorly embarrassed.

"not really just put the most depressing songs you can on it, songs that talk about suicide although i believe suicide is wrong but it still makes me feel good when someone else talks about all their trouble and stuff and how bad it is and yeah just plains sucks to be them.

"Oh..." Kyokki said, blinking, and brushed her golden bangs out of her line of sight. She looked a little curiously at the stranger.

She tried to laugh her embarrassment off, and placed a hand on the bear, netting her fingers in the soft, artifical fur.

"Normally, I'd like Kuma-san here, but I hate vaentines Day with a passion. You?"

"oh heavens yes it is the worst holiday known to man i mean it is just made up by hallmark and the chocolate companies and the restaraunts to get people to go out get flowers chocolate and stuff like that, sort of like christmas is totally screwed up these days.

"Actually, I was under the impression that the day started as a feast-day for a Catholic saint/martyr whose form of execution was being crushed by a spiked wheel. I'm sure that it started out as his feast day, and he was some priest who married people in secret when the emperor made it illegal to mary or court or whatever. But somebody told me the part about the wheel; I'm not sure who. All I know is, we went way overboard with this thing."

yes this is coimpletly true oh and by the way i have a character on shinobi spirits by the name of roru who is da bad guy hehe so that is me and yeah i was just joking about the chocolate companies and other things like that because well ist just appears to be that way like any christian holiday it just happens to be ruined by the non believers.
