Kaede nodded to herself, then turned in Sophira's direction. Dealing with shinobi was exceptionally difficult, and she found this to be just the case with this mysterious Sand girl. "Thanks," she said, beginning to follow Sophira's lead.
And through the gloom the sun was growing brighter, now. A new start, a new adventure… a new reason to be wary of everything.

(OOC: Is this beach in the sand village? I don't quite understand where this is taking place.)
"A mission?" Tawainai asked herself. "I wonder what kind...?" She had asked the hokage when he gave her this mysterious mission to the sand village. Her feet were beginning to hurt, she had walked for miles. But, even though tempting, she couldn't use the teleportation jutsu now, she needed to save her chakara for what might lay ahead. "I just hope I get there soon."

(OOC: yes. It is just outside the actual village. )
Sophira quietly lead Kaede into the town. It seemed slightly windy, but not enough to blow the sand around. It was nice. The sun was almost in it's place in the sky and people of the village were starting to leave their houses to enjoy their day. Sophira smiled slightly, her skin seemed to glow from the new morning rays. She looked back occasionly to make sure Kaede was still following. Sophira didn't like going on this side of town by herself. It wasn't a friendls place to go... but it was always the quietest. But quiet didn't always mean safe. The newer houses started to fade away in what seemed to dull, old, unkept appartments. Sophira's smile faded as the sun dissappeared behind the heights of the buildings surrounding her and Kaede. She tensed up slightly, but relaxed noticing that it wasn't pitch black at this part of town. "My advice is for you to keep close. This part of town isn't exactally friendly." Sophira said quietly, almost as a whisper. She looked back to face Kaede to make sure she was still with her and listening to her instructions, for this girl was awefully quiet.

Kaede nodded and followed obediently behind Sophira, whose sunny face grew darker with every step under the towering, unwelcoming homes. She dared not speak. Who knew who could be listening behind the stucco of the village walls?
We're in the backstreets, Kaede noticed, slyly looking from side to side. It wasn't new for her, though. Many a time had she put herself into places like this one, if only to gather one tiny, significant detail. This time, she might even get the whole story.
Her senses heightened automatically as they ascended deeper into the street; each scuff of a footstep landing sharp in her ear, each movement a portrait of color.
And if there was one thing she remembered about backstreets, it was that you always, always had to watch your back.
This better be worth it.

Sophira continued to walk, trying to keep as quiet as possible. She suddenly stopped, finding the small ally-way she used to hide in when she was small. It wasn't a welcoming place, nor bright... but it was better than nothing. It was quiet peaceful and it felt slightly safe to her. She lead Kaede down the narry place between two big buildings. "This is it..." Sophira told Kaede, perching on a small wooden box that was slightly rotted. It was dark in color, but looked like it should be lighter. "Now... who is it that you are looking for?" Sophira asked politely and quietly in her soft, mystifying tone. Sophira tilted herhead slightly, her blue eyes twinkling with the small amount of sun where they were.

Tawainai arrived sooner than she thought she would, reaching the village gates a mere half hour after she had started complaining to herself.
The guard stood firm and stiff in his posistion, moving only his eyes to look down with distaste upon Tawainai. "What is your business, little girl." He said it more as a statement than a question. Tawainai was, oddly enough, reminded of tree bark at the sound of his voice.
"Chikako, Tawainai." She felt she needed to state her name. "I've been sent here from Konoha on a mission."
The guard continued to look at Tawainai with eyes of stone.
Please, please allow me in!. Tawainai mentally begged. This man did not seem like a trusting one. Plus, even though Konoha and Sunagakure were allies, tensions stayed high between the two villages.
The gate was opened by a kinder looking guard that Tawainai hadn't noticed. "She's good to go, Akito. I've received a message from the hokage mentioning her."
Tawainai gave the kind guard the most thaknful look ever thought possible as she entered the village.

Kaede watched as Sophira took a seat on a nearby box, so she followed suit and slid up unto an old overturned garbage can that stood across the small enclosure. This way, she was forced to look down slightly at Sophira, and she had a good view of the city outside the alley's shadow. She kept her eyes steady on the girl for a moment before doing anything. All Sophira did was stare back, waiting, her face cast eerily with a strip of white sun.
Kaede made sure to pull her cloak about herself and around her legs, now folded Indian-style on the tin. Taking a deep breath, and peeking at the village beside them once more, she began.
"I'm looking for a man called Orochimaru. I'm sure you've heard of him; everyone has. My last tip was that he was headed this way, to your village."
She stopped and looked directly at Sophira. "Do you know anything about this?"

"Wow! This place is beautiful!" Tawainai always had a soft spot for desert landscapes. And this one was exceptionally dry and barren! A few villagers gave her a funny look reguarding that comment. Tawainai looked in awe at the seemingly endless sand. But, there must be water nearby, to sustain life in this village. She thought, staring up at the sky. "Amazing... not a cloud in sight!" Grinning, she looked ahead of her and began skipping up the road, in search of the kazekage. Surely he'd know what my mission is!

"Orochimaru..." Sophira whispered slightly, remembering that name. She has never actually seen him, only heard slight rumors. She heard one the other day from a merchant when she was buying some food. He told her that Orochimaru came to him looking for some kind of stone. The Merchant had no Idea of what it was... or why Orochimaru wanted it.
"He went to the Merchant by the name of Maidrik yesterday. He asked for some kind of stone. The merchant didn't remember what the stone was called, or anything, but it must be powerful for Orochimaru to come all the way here to get it. Other than that, I don't believe he saw anyone else." Sophira told her straight up.

Kaede frowned. She hadn't heard of any strange stones lately. And if it was a stone that Orochimaru was after, then why in the world had he gone through the efforts to take Nori? These were the thoughts that troubled her.
"What about you, then," she asked, feeling discouraged. "You've obviously been down this street before." Kaede paused and took another scan to the grey street. "So what's your story?"

"I don't have a story..." Sophira assured her. She flipped her hair behind her ear. Sophira wasn't about to ramble her life story. Sophira didn't even know weather or not to trust this girl.

Tawainai had met with the kazekage. All he said was that her mission was to take care of someone. Her name was Kaede or something. Basically, all she had to do while she was in Sunagakure was make sure that this Kaede person didn't get into any trouble. "Ugh... this is gonna be booooorrrrrrriiiiinnnnnng...!" She groaned.

(OOC: Sweet! I finally have someone after me!)
Kaede frowned. She hated when people got like this.
"Fine, then," she said, standing. "I guess my work here is done. Thank you for your help, Sophira of the Sand. We won't meet again."
Brushing some sandy earth from the rim of her cloak, Kaede then straightened and turned towards the street, which had grown considerably shadier.
Great, she thought, where the heck do I go from here?

Sophira walked by errily past Kaede. "Do you need help getting back to the beach?" Sophira asked kindly and softly. It was almost as if she glowed in the darkness of the night. She flipped the silver strands of hair out of her eyes and looked at Kaede for an answer.

Crap! Tawaiani just realized, she hadn't been given a description of the person she was supposed to find! Ugh! I guess I'll just have to ask around. She stopped any and all villagers she could find, asking if they were, or knew, Kaede. Every answer was the same, negative. I've probably asked everyone in this whole village! Then, she saw two girls standing in the entrance to an alley way. Okay... maybe they know something. "Escuse me." She approached them. "Do you anyone by the name of Kaede?"
