Forum is becoming dead

It may not have occured to anyone, but this forum is in the mist of becoming dead. I do not in any event want that to happen, if I am to get this forum off the ground I'm going to need the help of at least Haruka and Shizuki. I am not trying to take over as some people might think when reading this. I am however trying to keep this place froim dieing. Not only for myself but for the few people who put work into this and yet got nothing in return for it. If I am to help, I might require short term privellages of admin. This is of course only short term and not permanent. So what does everyone think? Mainly Shizuki and Haruka.

dude.....i've been around for a lot longer than you have; the forum died last summer XD its been like this for almost a year now!

And no, you're not getting admin priveleges. I'm actually quite offended you'd even have the audacity to ask.

I am the main admin of the site; i may not post here but i do a lot of background work and as such, i get the final say in who gets on staff.
There are plenty of long time members who deserve staff positions more who don't have them mainly because we don't need any more staff.
if the site gets busy again then we will need more staff; we had 5 mods and 2 admin last year.

But right now, 3 admins and 3 mods is more than sufficient.

I'm also quite offended that this mesage wasn't aimed at me as well.
Considering i have run this place for almost 2 years.
Activity died because interest was lost; it happens with 90% of RP sites.
We were one of the lucky ones that we managed to get a year and a bits run out of it.
I've been on/started plenty of RP sites that have barely surived a few months.

There isn't a core problem with the site; its advertising. The site isn't that well known hence why advertising on Naruto related forums is the best option.

As far as the rules etc go, we're one of the more lenient sites.
I used to RP on sites where word limit was at least 3 paragraphs and 600 words.
30-60 words is childs play compared to that.
Same with character creation.
the only thing we are strict on is Kekkei Genkai being a major feature in the background but that is a minor thing.

As Lawliet said. I don't know how long I've been here *goes to check* my forst post was 8/23/07. So I'd like to think that I have at least some grounds in saying this: Kenran was a very high quality and fast-paced place in it's prime, but is now aging. I've left for months at a time and come back to only a few posts in the entire board. Kenran started my RPing career, and I thank it for that.

Well in any event, I would have to agree that, that is child's play. I have been on forums that required you to post at least 1000 words per post. It seems all I was doing was trying to help. You know what, it wasn't meant as an insult in any way. I'll be taking my leave now.

and any form of help is appreciated but there is tact in doing so.
Opening up a post asking for admin powers is the definite wrong way to go about it; and doing so in public is definetly the worst way.
A quick PM to myself/Haruka/Shizuke would have sufficed and we would discuss it in the staff area.
By doing so in public you have put us in a difficult position as now the members who dont have staff privelages know whats going on and will also think you can just ask such a thing openly.

Other mod/admin discussions were always held away from the regular members so as to not cause forum politics; i.e people getting upset about things that were said.

Well it seem's all I wanted to do was make it a bit more alive. By doing what I felt needed to be done, the color seemed to be as if it was dull, bland, tasteless. I only wanted what would make it better and get the members back. In which case again I'm sorry, I won't do it again. Nor will I post, I guess everyone hates me for doing so. So I might be taking a permanent leave.

if i dropped out of a forum everytime somethign didn't go my way i'd not have any forums left; noone hates you......hell the only people to reply to this thread have been me and lelz and the only person i've seen discussion elsewhere with is Kakuta......3 members =/= everyone....

Honestly, that seems like too much of a reaction. I've been over-dramatic about leaving before, but not quite to that extent. Vega, it isn't that we don't want you here, it's more of a "That was silly" kind of thing. Though "silly" might not be the right word... ^-^"
