[Kyokki Tenkiame]

"They killed them. My goverment killed my parents and my little brother. My aunt Semiko, too," it was the first time the words had ever left Kyokki's lips. She didn't talk about it, not really. It was the first time she had ever admitted it to herself out loud. She started to cry, and stood up. She couldn't talk about this. She'd let Amane explain it all. She walked a few feet away, and climbed the second ginkgo, resting in its branches.

Amane looked at her, grieving, but she didn't cry. She hadn't since that first night.

"Four years after we left, Kyokki decided she wanted to go home. She had had a bad dream, she said. Felt like she needed to see her parents. We weren't sure at the time whether it would be a visit, or whether she would stay."

"When we got there, we knew something had changed. People were running when they saw us. No one would talk to us. The buildings looked damaged. Finally, when we were almost to the Hisakata quarters, and old friend of mine came running our way."

"She was in hysterics, screaming that we needed to leave and never come back. That they had gotten all the others, and she wouldn't let them have her former squad member. Her fellow soilder.

"They saw and heard the whole thing. The men killed Koriko-chan, too. Kyokki was terrified, she kept sreaming and trying to run. "

She stopped for a moment, trying to calm herself.

The next little bit is, too be honest a blur. I just remember being horrified and angry and confused, all at once. And scared. I was afraid for my life, and Kyokki's. They called us spies for the old goverment, and traitors selling information about the village at that. They knocked me out, but left Kyokki awake, and then took us to jail..."

Sen eye's widened. She hadn't heard any of this.

Hikari ran his fingers beneath the chin saying "well then you shouldnt be in danger if I talk with the hokage we maybe able to find a way to protect you but we will just have to be careful but till then we of the chikara clan will protect you with our lives" hikari got on his knees and bowed

Naito did the same saying"we will protect you with our lives I swear this on my honor"

Aishiteru also bowed and said "consider us your friends and alies"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

Amane nodded.

"Thank you," she told the three, and then continued "I don't remember much of the jail either. Kyokki says she thinks I was drugged. If that's the case, I wouldn't realy know. I remember I just kept crying. My brother was dead, my nephew, my sister-in-law... Mitsukai was hung for treason, and Taiyuu and Genkiyaku had "died on a mission". They showed us Taiyuu-nichan and Mitsukai's corpses. But Kyokki wouldn't look, and I wouldn't let them make her.

"It was my older sister Semiko who helped us escape before our exeution dates. We don't know what happened to her, but it's safe to guess she's dead.

"For a while we just randomly wondered around, hiding for our lives and trying to overcome the shock. eventually, I had Kyokki change her last name to Mitsukai's maiden name, and brought her here. Your Hokage seemed sympathetic; she convinced the council to let Kyokki stay. But she couldn't get them to grant me shelter.

"In fact, I was ordered not to take up any form of even semi-permenant residence here unless my application was approved. I was turned down.

"The Lady Hokage turns a blind eye to me, but the rest of your goverment, your council of elder's and such view me as a threat, a possible spy. They don't trust me. So we ended up like this. Are you really sure you want to get involved in all of this?"

[Santomoro Purotekuta- Mei]

Naito smiled and said "we have a chance to help then we will and I think we can still call on the favor the counsil owes us for when our father save the life of sevral council members and nearly deid doing so"

Hikari nodded and said "We never back down this is our way we wont surrender we can always bring it up besides they know we have good judment"

Aishiteru said "we never leave a friend alone"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

Kyokki was sitting in the ginkgo, teying not to hear the conversation. She ws crying, but trying to hide it, and was singing an Ame folksong with her pathetic voice.

"Amaai no sato to Amegakure no sato
No hime-
Amaterasu no onna no ko
Susanno no onna no ko-
Kitsunenoyomeiri no
Manamasume deshita

Naiteru arimasen,
Amaai no Kuni no hime!

It was a song that had always seemed to fit her. The girl in the song was called "The lady of the Village of the Break in the Rain" and the "Lady of the Village Hidden in the Rain" as well as the (little) girl of both the Sun Goddess Amaterasu and the Storm God, Sussano (sp?) and the "Precious daughter of the rain shower while the sun shines".

It was where she had gotten the title for her book. She'd much rather think about that then her parent's death. She looked down, not hearing any of the conversation, and looked at the Chikara. Her gaze lingeredon Naito in particular. she wondered what they thought of her, crying and hiding and hunted.

Naito had noticed her look so while no one was looking he made a clone and hoped to talk to her as he snuck into three he snuck behind her and covered her mouth and shushed her saying "it is only me naito"he smiled as he sat up on a higher branch

Hikari sighed and said "this will be a long road that we will have to travel"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

Kyokki cried out in muffled surpruise, but calmed a little when she heard Naito's voice. She wiped tears from the corners of her eyes, which were red and puffy now, to contrast with their normal simple gold.

She shut them and leaned back against the base of the tree as much as she dared to.

"I'm sorry," she apologize. She was always, always apologizing. "I didn't mean to get your family involved in any of this. Especially since we've only know each other a day."

Amane nodded in agreement with Hikari. "It only seems to get longer."

Sen felt horrible. Rotten. Angry. She had never guessed...

[Santomoro Purotekuta- Mei]

Naito smiled and said "it is better to be helpful with a friend rather then leave them out to dry and dont worry we dont judge you for that we know you are all innocent and no matter what we will protect you but there is somthing we may ask of you..."he stoped and said "to be friends with us till the day we die"

Hikari smiled and said "it is only a illusion all roads have there set diffrence but how long it takes is up to the person who walks it to see how longs it lasts"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

"Of course," Kyokki smiled weakly, "I wouldn't consider anything else. You're stuck with me, now, so thank your unlucky stars." She tried for a feeble joke.

"Naito...tell me something about yourself. ... I need to think about something else... other than..well you know."

Amane looked a little surprised at Hikari. She hadn't been expecting a kid his age to pull out something like that. But then, nothing about these three siblings seemed excatly normal.

Sen pulled her knees up to her chest, thinking guiltily, and trying to straighten all the things she had learned out in her mind.

[Santomoro Purotekuta- Mei]

Naito sighed and decied to show her his birth mark he rolled up his sleve and on his arm was a black cressent moon and underneath the black crent moon was his name"this is my birth mark and my brother has a similar one of the sun and my sister of a heart this is the way we were born"

Aishiteru sat next to sen and said "there is alot to think about now isnt there having found out stuff about your family all at once and haveing had very little prior knowledge"

Hikari smiled and said "we all have our demons to fight in our lifes but everyone elses are diffrent yours may have to be fought hand to hand but that dosnt mean that we cant fight right by you"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

Kyokki was curious, and her tone reflected it. She opened her tired eyes, and looked at the mark Naito had pointed out. Sure enough he was telling the truth.

"Wow... you were really born with that?" she asked, glad for the alternate topic to think about, "I have a birthmark, but it just looks like a blob of pigment. Hey...that's why you were given your names, right?"

"Yeah," Sen told Aishiteru, "Man. I've been a real brat. I was so jelous of Kyokki. Not now..."

Amane looked Hikari in the eye.

"Thank you... all of you."

[Santomoro Purotekuta- Mei]

Naito nodded and said "there is a old ledgend in our clan that there would be three who would make our clan great and we were born with birth marks each represent how we are I recived the black crssent moon while my brother got a sun upon his chest and Aishiteru a heart on her arm we are all gifted with diffrent knowledge of jutu"

Aishiteru said "people make act bad but at heart you know what people are like most people cant see what I see even though I am blind"she let out a small smile

Hikari smiled and shook his head "there is no need for thanks friends dont give friends thanks when it comes to protecting"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

"That makes sense, I guess," Kyokki said slowly, "So how do you plan on making you clan great, then? Although I'd think they were pretty blessed just have the three of you born and in the family."

Amane went to thank Hikari again, but stopped herself. She smiled to express the gratitude she couldn't put into words.

Sen looked at Aishiteru. People kept saying things that surprised her today.

"What do you mean by that, Aishiteru-san?" She asked, fiddiling ith the panda-shaped key chain anging from her belt loop.

[Santomoro Purotekuta- Mei]

Naito smiled and put a finger to his lips and said "I am going to become a strong fighter and prove my power and become a great warrior I will try to become anbu along with my brother and sister we will be able to deffend this village and our clan"

Hikari smiled and said "now dont you worry I will talk to the coucil and I will talk with the villagers and we will try to make this road a little smoother for you"

Aishiteru let a small smiled and said "although I cant see people I can see there hearts and who they really are and what really happens"

[Kyokki Tenkiame]

Kyokki's smile grew a little larger, a little stronger.

"I can see the three of you in that role. I think you'd be realy good at it. I couldn't do it though. If I ever got tired of recon, I guess I probably would take up a teaching posistion at the academy or something. One of the older clases though. I actually kind of like bossing people around."

Another joke.

"Seriously, though, I like being there to insruct people, and help them. I just can't handle tiny kids very well. My third choice would be to work at a library, but I'd hope for one of the first two."


Amane's face turned sour. "I'd appreciate the effort, but I really just have to wish you good luck on that one."

"No offense Aishiteru-san," Sen replied, "but I'm really not too envious."
