Kyokki brushed her ten to his side of the table, flipping her other three cards face up to see what she had lost. He had taken a red four and black three, which wan't that bad, but also a jack of spades, which would hurt her later.
Frowning with concetration, she placed another card on the table- the Ace of Spades, in all its intracite glory.

"It's one of my favorite cards, not because of the rank or anything, but because it has so much detail drawn into it.
"You know, the ace of spades is how the expression 'not playing with a full deck' got started?
"The reason its so ornate is because in some country ages back- I'm not sure which one- a king wanted to place a tax on playing cards. But instead of placing it on the full deck, he only placed it on the ace of spades.
"People who couldn't afford the tax would sometimes by all the cards except for the ace, so they wouldn't have to pay the extra. Except, with only 51 cards, they couldn't actually play any games. So they were considered stupid."
She took his seven, and dealt through the next several hands in silence. Finally, her mind started to wonder to more philosophical topics, the way it often did.
“Hey Naito-kun?” she asked, “What are you most afraid of?”

H enodded as she spoke losing card after card it seemed. He listened to her speak about how the ace was this was rather interesting to him and smiled saying"that is very interesting"when she asked him his greatest fear he paused for a moment and then let out a heavy sigh and said"I fear the human race they judge harshly those not like them.People like me who stand out in nature who have diffrent abilitys and a diffrent way of thinking are fear and hated."he looked at all the cards that he had lost and said"somtimes this hate drives them to kill"

"I know what you mean..." Kyokki said softly as she took Naito's 9 of clubs with the Queen of Spades. She hadn't been singled out do to any talent or strength- she didn't have many. But she halt felt the end of the whip, to be sure.
"In the realm of the physical, I'd have to say I'm most afraid of hunter nin, for obvious reasons. I'm afraid of them, and I hate them for having that kind of power over me. A good girl's not supposed to feel that way, but I do.
"In the realm of concepts and emotions ... well, there's a whole lot I'm afraid of, to be honest. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat.
"I went through a really long battle with depression, though, so I guess my greatest emotional fear is ending up that way again."
