Kyokki leaned into him, her face still flushed.
"Well... you were... well..." she stuttered...." earlier was....the first time I've ever kissed anybody, you know?"
She had an annoying habit of taking the phrase onto the end of her sentances when she wasn't sure how the content of her messages would be recieved.
She pulled his jacket closer around her body, wondering if she could simply dissapear in its warmth.

"Naito-kun, will you tell me more about growing up with your siblings? I only ever had one brother, and I never really got to know him. All the circumstances kept piling up. I regret it, and I kind of wonder what would have happened if things had beeen different."
She wondered what Naito would have been like with out Hikari and Aishiteru.

Naito began to think and said "Well with hiakri me and him were in constant competion.Everytime one of us became strong the other tried to become stronger. One time me and him stood on water for 10 hours trying to out do eachother."He then began to think again"Aishiteru was the one that kept us from killing one another. She would heal us and carry us when we were hurt. She cared for everyone and learned to cook with my mom."

Kyokki finished off her second cup of tea, and decided she didn't want anymore. She'd hold herself off for later.
She couldn't really imagine growing up with siblings. Her brother had never been a major part of her life, not until his death. She kbnew that when he was six his favorite color was green, but not much else.

Kyokki thought about if for a moment, and her thoughts turned to the deck of cards in her bag. They were slightly worn and faded, but familiar. They had passed many a lonely day in Amegakure with solitare, and later on she had played war with bachan or hearts or spades with her momther, father and aunt all together. Cards had always been safe. They didn't change on you.
She pulled them out.
"Do you ever play?"

He looked at the old cards and said "only solitare and war"he knew very little about cards just how to predict there movement he loved using his mind to figure out cards since it presented a challenge one which was always diffrent like a puzzle that couldnt be solved in the same way twice this made him think and contemplate

"War then. No looking at your cards; play the random way. It's more fun."
Kyokki cut and shuffled the deck, splitting the cards imbetween Naito-kun and herself. The blue-backed slips of paper were smooth to the touch, cool and familiar in her hands. She wouldn't have made it very far with out these things. Before bachan had come back home at the end of the war, they had helped keep her sane.

he nodded and said"then I agree no looking"he took the cards he had recived and held them in his hands he studied them for a moment and thought to himself '50 cards cut in half is 25 each with probability I got 2 kings 2 queens 2 aces 2 jacks..."he coutninued to calculate the probability and the way it would work

(Fifty two, actually, devided down to 26.)
Kyokki stopped for a minute after she dealt the cards, letting the memories wash over her. A simple deck of playing cards shouldn't make her so sentimetal. And it wasn't the cards themselves, really- though they had been her Uncle Saburo's once, then her Aunt Semiko's before they were passed on to her- but the escape they had always presented.
She placed her deck face-down on the table, and drew a card off the top, revealing a red-inked Queen of Hearts.

(yea but dont you remove the two jokers?)
He felt the top of the cards and then drew from the top he looked at her eyes and looked at his card it was a black two the weakest he knew of and thought'shoot unless she has also a two I have already lost'he placed it down and said"two of spades"he began to think 'I probably have another 2 in my deck and it is probably a red one'

(You remove them for Texas Hold 'Em poker, too, but the deck you play with still always equals 52 cards. I don't think they count the joker. I'll have to ask my uncle, the one who's poker freak, sometime)
Kyokki quickly took the two, rolling her eyes at having wasted a face-card, a queen, on the weakest card in the deck. She flipped over a eight of clubs next, and waited, watching for his next card.
"So you've seriously never played Hearts or Spades, or Poker of any sort? My Uncle Saburo was a card freak, and after he died when I was a baby he left these to my Aunt Semiko. She gave them to me when I was old enough to appreciate them and taught me a lot of games. Not gin though. I think that one was too painful a memory."

He shook his head and fliped up a red 8 of hearts and said"no my father taught me and hikari that when we were still young so that is all we know"he looked at her card and said"I guess my luck is turning"he began to think' a queen a 2 and 2 eights we are getting closer to the better cards'

"War" she smiled, lying three cards face down on the table over her black eight, and resting a card face up ontop of their backs. It was a ten of diamonds. Decent. Ten was the highest number card, which gave her a reasonable shot at victory, but she wasn't wasting all of her royalty at once either.
"Do you play often?"
