"Absolutely. Right this way." Haruka said happily, gesturng forward in a polite fashion and beginning to walk, knowing that Kyokki would not be far behind her.
She did not find the 'reassure her I'm alive' comment considering her aunt. It was not odd, in the life of a ninja, for family members and those close to the ninja in question to believe that someone was dead. There had been an occation or two that her Sensei, Mabuki, was sure that she was dead as well.
"Well, I'm sure your aunt would very much appreciate the gesture." she said simply. "If you need some extra money, i don't mind loaning you some, if it come to where your short a bit or something." Even though she didn't have that much extra money to spend for herself or whatever she wished, she was always fine with some loaning.

"Thanks," Kyokki told her apreciatively as she started to follow Haruka, and then sped up so that they were walking side by side. She really hated being short, but her Hisakata genes had seemed determened she'd never make it past five foot two inches and now she was completely through growing, height wise.
"Hopefully, though, I'll have enough. So... tell me a little about youself, Haruka-san. What's it like living here in Konoha? I mean, I guess after a month I should be able to answer that question my self, but... Anyway, did you grow up here?"

Kyokki was suddenly beside her as they carried out there conversation. It was only know that she realized she was taller than her companion. Her! Actually taller than someone for a change. Though, it was not much. Only and inch or so. She was, after all, still only five foot three.
"Well..." she said, stopping short so that she could find a proper way to word her answer. "I kind of grew up here... i guess you could say... I moved here when i was only five. Actually, moved isn't the proper word but..." she stopped shaking her head. "It's a... long story that i'd rather not go into at this point."

"Oh..." Kyokki blinked, "Well, that's okay. Sorry, I didn't mean to pry. I only asked because I wondeed if you've ever been to Amegakure no Sato, where I was born. And I wondered if you weren't from Konoha if you lived somewhere I had been. I'm a traveler... or at least, I was until recently. I'm setteling here now, with kachan's family."
She didn't go into detail about what had brought her their. She felt really bad about making Haruka uncomfortable. Besides, she needed all the friends she could get right now, especially since she was sepereated from Amane-bachan.
Nervously, she felt for the Konoha hitai-ate around her waist.

Haruka waved her hand, a smile back on her face. "No no no... It's perfectly alright." she said kindly, hoping she had not given Kyokki the idea that she had made her feel bad or something. "You didn't know."
She looked forward as they turned a corner, and she was able to hear the bustle of the market place up ahead. "Well, i haven't been to Ame before. I've wanted to for awhile, but haven't gotten the time." she shrugged.

"Well...I'd say you should go, normally. I even know a few people who might normally show you around. But I'd suggest avoiding my hometown like the plague for the next little while. Just trust me on this one. Things are.... difficult there right now. If you ever get the chance to visit later on the road, though, you should visit Mine and Yui's cafe," Kyokki told her, "So, just how far away is the market anyway?"
It seemed like they had been walking for quiet a while, but that was probably just Kyokki's typical impatience coming through.

Haruka nodded. "Mine and Yui's cafe... I've to it to memory." she said, tapping her temple with her index finger. "I'll check it out whenever i decide to go visit it." she smiled.
She looked ahead. "The market is just down the road now. Can't you hear it... and smell it?" she said. There were quite a few little vendor resturants along the street as well as shops. It would be so enjoyable.

Kyokki laughed in delight, forgetting herself for a moment, and started to race toward it. She loved market places. They had sheer variety that you wouldn't find in normal grocery or retail stores. She had a good eye, and was always able to find something curious or unique. Or at the very least, she knew which were the best-tasting fruits.
Realizing she was running ahead of Haruka, and acting like a child at that, she sheepishly stopped and waited for the other girl to catch up.
"Sorry" was on the tip of her tongue, but she surprised herself by not actually saying it.

Haruka was surprised when Kyokki took off in a full fledged sprint down the street. Staring after her in her shock, blinking several times before she came to reality, she began to giggled. And that giggled quickly erupted into a large, harty laugh.
Taking off in a sprint of her own, but not nearly as fast; she had never been a fast runner, she was more a long distance type; she caught up quickly when her companion slowed down. It was quick and on the spot. "Hey, is something wrong?" she asked her. "You didn't need to stop for me."

"Sorry," the word came out now, but it was late, "I got a little over-excited, then realized it probably wasn't polite to run off like that."
She grinned.
"That's what I get for listening to Amane-bachan!"
She turned slightly to face Haruka as she was walking, but then she had to concentrate more on stepping without falling flat on her face than the conversation. After nearly tripping twice, she turned back around.
"So... what do you do for a living? I mean, its obvious you're a kunoichi, but do you teach, go on normal missions, or what?"
They turned the corner into the market place.

Haruka laughed, trying to pick up her pace so that her company did not have to walk backwards just to speak with her. "Well, grandmother knows best, right?" she said in a matter-of-factly way before giggling.
"As for normal life... I do go on normal missions occationally." she answered, again resting her hands behind her head as she walked to open up her lungs to the fresh Konaha air that she loved so much. "But most i also have a job at the hospital. Part of my training towards becoming a medical nin. I have to get in so many hours of work there before i can even take the tests."
She sighed as she looked around at all the stands set up as they entered the large square. Fruit stands, small vendors selling jewlery, and other little knick-knacks. "So, you're obviously a kunoichi as well." she noticed. "What do you do exactly?"

"Aunt," Kyokki corrected as she examined a pretty painted fan she knew Amane would never use, "Bachan, not Baachan. That must suck that you can't even take the tests, huh?"
She turned to a Chinese iron fan lying next to a silk one. Now this she could see Amane with. But she put it down, and moved on to a display of fruit.
"Well I've been traveling for years, with almost no ninja work, just training with my Aunt Amane. But I think once the goverment trusts me enough to take me off of probation and confinment to the village, I might be given a job in recon. Traveling and helping the village. Exciting, but not much direct fighting. It sounds just about perfect for me."

Haruka grinned sheepishly, turning her face to the side quickly. She was not used to technical relitive terms. "Oops... sorry..." she said quietly, gritting her teeth with embarassment.
She looked along one of the tables at a few rings that they had in a large velvet lined box. Being as she was not one for jewelry, besides her one family pendant, her attention was not held long.
"Oh, well, that will be nice. I'm not very fond of the fighting that comes with being a ninja either..." she admitted. "I mean i can fight, if needed. But it's just... not fofilling." she shrugged. "I'm glad you'll be able to return to work though. It must be torture to be on a probation."

Kyokki raised an eyebrow.
"There's no actual "returning" involved, Haruka-san" she admitted, "I was pretty much jobless back in Ame, and I just got a position as a Konoha shinobi. They don't trust me yet, though. That's why I'm on probation. Actually, I don' think Ive had even a c-class mission since I was twelve."
She found a simple-looking golden chain with the figure of a raincloud hanging off.
"Real gold," the vendor was quick to assure her, "I get them from Ame!"
Kyokki looked up, startled. This man couldn't possibly be a shinobi from home...could he?
"I have a suplier there who gets them to me cheap!" he grinned, "which means I get to provide you with higher quality materials for lower prices!"
Kyokki relaxed.

"Oh..." Haruka answered simply. "I'm sorry, I didn't know..." she shook her head. She could be rather clueless sometimes. Especially about the things that were so predicable. Now that she knew what Kyokki ment, it was actually very obvious.
She looked to the vendor at the table that Kyokki had her eye on. The man didn't look familiar. "Hey, don't always trust these vendors." she whispered, only looking out of her well being, as well as her money. "Alot of them are husslers."
