Haruka smiled slightly to her. "Thanks." she said simply. "Well... being sold is difficult. The merchant were fairly unkind, but the fed us so that was good." she twiddled her fingers in her lap, trying to find words that would make it sound a little bit better than it was. "Anyway, i was sold to a Household here in town. Hushigomo. They're the fowlest of the fowl. I worked there for... about seven years..." she took a deep breath. "Then my current sensei got me out. That's all there really is to it."

Kyokki nodded, but it was unimaginable. Amane-bachan would have bashed in the head of anyone who had tried to do anything even remotely like that to her. She had been lucky.
She was left feeling like she should trust Haruka. But her life, and Amane's were still on the line. She didn't think Haruka was the kind of person who would turn them in. That didn't make her less afraid.
She stopped swinging, and pulled out a small bundle of papers- a folded certificate of citizenship for Konoha, a small wallet-sized photo of her and her Aunt, and a bunch of others. Finally, she found what she was looking for - the warrant for her arrest.

Haruka glanced over to Kyokki, curious, when she did not respond, if she had disguested her to the point that she did not wish to associate with her anymore. When her eyes fell on her, she noticed she was digging through a large pile of papers that apparently had come out of her bag. Quirking her head slightly to the side, she was able to catch a glance of some of the papers. Two photos, one of Kyokki and one of an older woman. "What are those?" she asked, pointing to the papers she curently had in her hands.

"Important things. One's I carry with me all the time, because I don't trust chance enough to believe I'd have them for long otherwise," seeing Haruka's eyes on the photo, she pointed out the blue-green eyed woman with a reserved smil and long chocolate colored hair.
"That's my Aunt, Amane."
Gingerly, she handed the warrant to Haruka.
"Kyokki Hisakata" it declared it bold letters, "wanted for treason against Amegakure, possible spy connections, corruption of blood, and the murder and assistance in the murder of Semiko and Tatsuta Hisakata. Most likely traveling with Aunt, Amane Hisakata. Criminal may go under the alias Kyokki Tenkiame, after her mother's family."
The lies were followed by a small, but goodsized amout of yen being offered in exchange for her return- dead or alive.

Haruka nodded in understanding as she pointed out her aunt. It was the first time she had ever seen an actually physical appearance of this Amane. As she continued to examine, Kyokki began ruffling through her papers again.
She held out an official looking document to her. She looked at the paper in her hand for a moment before gingerly taking it. Kyokki seemed hesistant and nervous about this. She could not help but wonder why.
Her question was answered as she looked over the paper. "A bounty..." she looked up at her. "On your head?" she asked quietly, not wanting anyone that may be near to hear. "I just can't see that coming from you. You seem like such an inocent and quiet person." she said, her mind still boggling at this.

"I'm human, not innocent. But I never did any of that. That is, unless treason to Amegakure now includes being a traveler, which, if its, they forgot to mention it when my Aunt got all the legal paperwork taken care of."
She made a bitter face.
"As for the bounty, Amane-bachan's is more extensive. She's a former war Lieutenant with honorable dischagre and everything, but the goverment doesn't care. We're scum, apparently."

Haruka looked from the paper, which stated the alligations that her friends was describing, and back over to Kyokki. "That's just.... unbelieveable...." she said quietly. She had never actually be with a governmently labled 'criminal,' except for her sister, but that was against her own will.
"So, is the government in Amegakure under the dictation of someone that maybe hold a grudge towards your family, possibly?" she asked. This was a good possiblity, by her standings.

"Maybe. Amane-bachan's got all kinds of theories, and the fact that we're one of the few established families that place has fits into most of them. I mean we're not like the Hyuuga or anything; we've got no kekkei genkai to speak of. But like I said, my hometown and my former country was built on the backs of refugees and missing nin, and they're alot easier to push around than somebody who's family had been their for generations and actually has expectations. Anyway, I don't mean to sound self-centered. I'm just saying repectability wise, it's not going to be a problem. techinally, I should be dead by now."

Haruka shrugged indifferently. "It's not problem. I don't find that a self-centered comment at all." she said as she held the papers back out to her. "I mean, so you were higher on the social ladder; it's not like you're bragging this or anything." she sighed. "I'm not used to that whole kind of thing. I mean, where i came from we didn't have the whole 'this clan is elite to this one' thing. It was just that you had a clan and they inherited maybe land or something. No one was really higher than anyone else."

"There were definant rankings back in Amegakure. Everyone fresh of the boat from another region or country and newly checked into a refugeee program was at the very bottom; goverment officials were at the very top. Like I said we didn't real clans, the way we do here, but generally the longer your family had been somewhere, the better off you were."

(Just a friendly bit of advice: Try putting in actions as well as what she's saying. It isn't very easy to write a response from something that's entirely a quote. Just a tip.)
Haruka shrugged at this. "Makes sense." she said. "I mean, the elders where i lived were derived from those that first settle there. I suppose it's basically the same thing." she stretched out her arms, looking once more at the paper in her hands, which Kyokki still had not taken back, despite her offer, before she held it out to her companion again.
"Anyway, i really don't think any of these alligations against you are even remotely true. So don't worry about me running to Amegakure to report you or anything." she grinned.

(I'm sorry. Mom was kicking me off, and it was all I could do to hit the "post" button before she commandeered the computer. Otherwise I would have written more. I'll fix it if I need to.)
Kyokki took the hated but important piece of paper back from Haruka.
"Thanks. I didn't peg you as that kind of person, anyway, although I've been wrong before. Vita privata, vita beata, Amane-bachan would tell me. That's Italian for "private life, happy life", and she's said it more times than I can count.
"She's always quoting proverbs at me, foriegn and otherwise. She collects them the way I collect words, or a Suna tourist would collect sea shells on the beach.
"But I can't complain, because normally I shoot one right back at her. She tells me I say too much all the time, that I'm too trusting. I chastise her for the opposite. It's how we've always gotten along."
Kyokki grinned, folding the warrant back around her photos and other scraps, and stuffing it into her bag .

(Don't bother changing it. It won't make a different now, sot don't worry about it.)
Haruka laughed. "I see. Proverbs... don't know to many of them." she shrugged, indifferent. "I guess your aunt must be pretty wise and intelligent to know so many that she's throwing quotes at you all the time."
She leaned back slightly, trying to think of something else to say to keep a conversation flow. "Well, feel like doing anything else around town?" she asked, figuring that their previous conversation had pretty much met it's end. She looked over to Kyokki. "Oh, and by the way, i have to be home by about five thirty. I have to make dinner..." she sighed.
