Haruka took her notebook back, feeling slightly embarassed as she smiled. The first person to read it actually seemed interested. "I actually have not really thought about time, seeing as it's not set in... real world, exactly." she shrugged.
"But i suppose in the time range the... world uses for it, it would 5,000,632,826 days. The... realm..." she couldn't think of anything else to call it, "measures there time in days. It's weird..."
She looked back to her, hoping to get off of the topic of her own stories, "So, same question to you: Do you write?"

"Yeah, though not too well," Kyokki told her, "I've actually written two novels. They're just not any good. Or, at least, that's what the publishers think."
She walked over to a stand selling fancy, official-looking ink pens that came out it odd colors. She looked at one that switched from purple, to blue, black, and red when you pressed a button.
"Right now, Im working on some poetry. I'm kind of clumping it all together as a collection under the title "Koe no Iro"- "Color of the Voice".

"Ah! Really!" she exclaimed happily. It was nice to find someone she had some things in common with. "Novels. Sounds... long..." she sighed. "About how many pages?" she added curiously. Hers own was only about two hundred pages, getting close to then end.
She scanned her eyes over to the table contents quickly before returning to the conversation; there was nothin of interest to her there. "I'm not really big on poetry. But it depends on the styling. Is it a mix of different or one specific style?"

"About four hundred pages each, give or take," Kyokki grinned at Haruka, "and I write open poetry, or free style, whatever you want to call it. There's the occasional tanka thrown into the mix, too. I'm better with stories though."
She stepped back from the overpriced objects, her curiosity at them spent, and decided she'd let Haruka decide what to look at next.
"How do you come up with your characters?" she asked.

Haruka nodded. "I see. I'd like to skim over one of them sometime. I'm just curious about what kind of story line you have set up." she grinned. It would be interesting to read someone elses book ideas, not that she would steal them or anything.
"Characters?" she asked, a bit puzzled at first, then she shook her head. "Oh, i usually get them from people i know. A couple of them are based off of some of my friends. But the main character, Sam, is just... a creation..." she shrugged.

"Mine are all hodgepodged. I take a trait from myself, and then add in traits I either made up, or found in other people. Sometimes I over do it, though," she hesitated a minute, and then decided Haruka could be trusted with information from her books.
"Mayu's a pretty good example. She's the heroine of both my novels, "Kitsunenoyomeiri" and "Sanmyuujikku". I took the distance I feel from people sometimes, and my love of words. Then I took my father's competativness, and bachan's hidden generosity. I sprinkled in some character flaws, like indesicion and a little selfishness, gave her Amane-bachan's blue-green eyes, and made her mute."

Haruka clapped her hand and pointed to Kyokki, a way she gestured relation with what someone was talking about. "Exactly. That's what Sam is! Hodgepodged!" she laughed. "Could not come up with the word."
She listened intently to this Mayu characters personality. "A mute, huh?" she nodded pondering it. "That sounds very interesting. A heroine cursed with the inability to talk..."

"It's set during the war." Kyokki said, her tone softer, but then she realized Haruka probably had no idea what she was talking about.
"Most of my short stories are realistic fiction and fantasy, but this one's hisorical fiction. It takes place dring the last Amegakure civil war. Not the upheaval, that never actually turned to war. It's set during the same time bachan was a soilder fighting in the same war. Except Mayu's originally from Kuni no Kinu."

Haruka looked down, knowing that some of the story must have been based off of her own experiances, or her bachan's, being that they lived in Amegakure. "Ah..." she said quickly to represent her understanding. "So, what exactly is the start of the rising action?" she asked, hoping she was not prying too much of her story.
"If you don't want to tell me and would rather keep it to yourself, that's fine." she added quickly. "For publishing purposes."

"No, no, actually, if you can stand to hear me ramble, I'd like to," Kyokki assured her, too caught up in thoughts of her story to think about much else.
"Actually, a large part of the theme and Mayu's design came from an old Ame no Kuni folksong. And when the book first starts, she's sitting and listening to this old veteran singing it. It goes something like,
'Amaai no sato to Amegakure no sato No hime- Amaterasu no onna no ko Susanno no onna no ko- Kitsunenoyomeiri no Manamasume deshita
Naiteru arimasen, ohime...
Anyway... the soilder sees her staring, and since they're both waiting for the bus to Ame, he asks her if she knows the words to the song. She nods, and he asks her to sing along. But, of course, when she opens her mouth, she can't speak at all. And she's angry- at herself for getting herself in that posistion, and the man for the same thing, and just at life in general because she's been going through a lot. She's also a little angry at her big brother. But a woman shows up, and-"
Kyokki cut herself off.
"I'm sorry, this is probably pretty boring for you."
(ooc: The lady of the village of the break in the rain and the village hidden in the rain- Amaterasu's girl Susanno's girl- Was the daughter of the rainstorm that fell while the sun shone

Haruka continued to listen intently, finding the beginning plot to be very interesting. Her eyes wondered as her ears continued to listen. The girl very much reminded her of her friend, Syani, who was a mute herself. She was not exactly sure why.
Kyokki suddenly stopped, just when Haruka was starting to get a picture in her mind. "No, you're not boring me." she assured her. "But if what this woman does is major part of the story line, i think i'd rathe read to find out what happens." she grinned. "Don't want to spoil too much of a good story."

"Thanks," Kyokki said shyly, "Yeah, the woman's pretty vital to the plot. I'll just say that's she modeled after my Aunt, and leave it at that. I'll lend you the manuscript sometime, if you want, but I don't have it with me."
She realized they had pretty much come to a stop.
"Well... what do you want to look at now?" She asked, realizing just how close she had come to reaveling so many secrets about amane and herself. She had known f course, that she had drwan from their experiences. She had just never realized how much.

Haruka nodded. "That would be great. Whenever you can get it to me is fine with him." she said. She had always been interested in historical fiction, but only if it was exciting. She did not enjoy things tht moved slowly.
She looked around before she stomach suddenly grumbled. Laughing nervously, she smiled. "Uh... How about a bit to eat. It's nearly lunch time..." she suggested. This was bound to happen eventually. Her stomach was so small it digested food as quickly as she consumed it.

Kyokki laughed a little, remembering how the same thing had happened when she met Amaya-san. Except, then, Amane had been with her, and her stomache had been the one growling like crazy.
"Alright," she agreed cheerfully, "do you want to get something here at sit at a park bench or something, or go to a restraunt?"
She was eyeing the bunches of sweet green grapes sitting at a carty just down the road. She had to admit, they looked good. Grapes were her favorite fruit.

Haruka tapped her chin, thinking what would be the best quickest and easiest thing to do. Her thoughts were interupted when her stomach again growled like a wilderbeast.
"Uh... how about we just get some stuff here?" she said, just eager to get something in her stomach. "It's quicker than having to wait on the cooks in a resturant. And, quite honestly, I'm starving." she looked down the street, seeing what fruits and other assorted food items might make a good quick meal.
