She poked his shoulder, slightly disappointed in him for being so lazy. But she could understand his reasoning. After all he had been very clumsy as a child, so c rank missions would have been out there for him.
"I think I went on a few c rank missions. And on B rank before the exam..." she thought outloud.

"The mission I was wounded on at 13 was a B-ranked." he said.
"My teammates dragged me to go do the mission. I didn't want to, but they said it was a team effort and that they couldn't do it without me." he shrugged.
"So I went...which I really probably shouldn't have."

Haruka looked at him for a moment. "Yuo? What exactly happened on that mission?" she asked, leaning forward slightly in her curiosity. "I mean, you explained the injury... but... never how it actually happened." she swallowed, looking down.
"But you don't have to if you don't want to." she added quickly.

"I'll explain." Yuo said.
"It was worse explaining what happened a few days after the mission." he said.
"We were out, quite a ways out of Konoha, but still in the Land of Fire." he said.
"We were ambushed by rogue-nin and the ANBU after them. The other two nin on my team got into the battle and I did too." he said.
"The girl on my team got in the way of one of rogues, and at that time my teammates were about my only friends. I got infront of her and took the hit instead." he said.

She blinked at him, surprised. That had not be exactly what she had expected. He had mentioned the rouge, but she had always suspected that the rouge had attacked him dirrectly.
But he had been saving someone else.
She smiled. How was it that he could be so perfect?
"So what exactly did the girl do after this all happened?" she asked.

"After the entire battle, and once we got home, she gave a few visits to me during my hospital stay. She sprained her ankle a day or two after the mission, but regardless she visited." he said.
"She got sick from what I found out after I ran from the village. Never saw her afterwards." he said.

A strange feeling surged through Haruka for a moment. For some reason she was furious. Was she jealous?
She forced a smile. "Well, at least she cared enough to visit." she said, trying not to spit out something terrible about this girl she didn't even know.

"She visited a few times a week, but after I got home, I didn't see her much, or talk to her." Yuo said.
"She was a nice girl, but...she was a lot like you." Yuo said.
"And now that I think hard about it...I wish she was you." he said.
"I mean, wouldn't that be crazy?"

She looked at him, confused again. "You mean, if we had been teammates and not even have realized it?" she asked. It would have been screwy. Not seeing eachother for three years and then not recognizing eachother now. Then again, Haruka tried to block things out like that.
"I don't know... it sounds... unlikely." she said quielty. "What did she look like? If you can remember."

"As close to you as she could get." Yuo chuckled.
"Same build, about the same height. She had thick black hair that went down to her shoulders and dark green eyes." he said.
"Or at least, to me they looked dark green." he said.
"I could be completely wrong. I didn't pay much attention to her, she was just a friend." Yuo put a hand on Haruka's cheek.
"So don't go getting jealous."

She quick shook her head. Nope. Nothing like her at the time. Her hair was nearly down to her waist when she was 12 and 13. It hadn't been as short as it was now in years.
He suddenly touched her face and she flushed. "I... I wasn't jealous!" she said quickly in defense. "I never said I was jealous!"

"But you sure look like you are." Yuo said.
"Don't worry, from what I know, she died after getting sick, long before I came back." he said.
"But I could be wrong, and she might still be living in the little grey house by the hospital back in Konoha."

Haruka shrugged, looking away. She could somewhat understand why he would be interested as to why he was interested in the girls were-abouts. But at the same time she couldn't help but wonder why? Why did he want to know?
'I hope she died.' she thought to herself.

Yuo stroked Haruka's cheek gently.
"But I don't really care right now." Yuo said.
"I've got something much more important." he said, pecking her lips gently.
"I love you Haruka." he said.

She bit lightly on her lip, fighting at a small smile. "And i'll always love you." she said, quickly wrapping her arms around his neck for a moment. "Forever."
She slipped back. "I don't know why... but this makes me think of something you said to me a long time ago." she said, laughing slightly. " 'The strongest friendship, has a few twists and turns.' " she quoted.
