"Ling doesn't believe me that Breezer is a sweet horse." I said. "He would've kept such a close eye on me I'd never be able to bring out the salt cubes for Breezer." I scowled at her. "Hey quit it you two!" Yuo exclaimed. "Haruka, at least Shizuke has made a sweet horse out of this suppose to be mean horse." Yuo said. "And Shizuke, maybe you should've asked Ling anyways." he looked up at me.
Yukio smiled. "That and she was the only one who wanted to be my friend...what with my natural hair colour and all."

Haruka scowled back. "I was just saying that you should have asked Ling. It's not really that safe to be letting out a horse, even if they are nice." she retorted. "You never know what might spook them. I know for a face that Breezer if terrified of snakes..." she sighed.
Haruhi laughed. "Oh, people can be so silly. Just because people have a weird hair color or look a certain way... it's so stupid, if you ask me." she grinned. "You seem like a perfectly nice person to be around."

I sighed. "Breezer wouldn't throw me off." I protested. "Breezer is very gentle with me, and he knows I don't really ride, so he makes sure that I stay on." I said. "And why would there be a snake in a closed barn?" I asked, looking down at Haruka. "I mean...really!"
Yukio smiled. "Most people say I am...unless I get angry or start crying." Yukio said, blushing a bit. "My boyfriend in Konoha...when he broken his arm and cut open the back of his heel spent at least 20 minutes trying to stop me from crying."

Haruka growled. "City folk... you don't know a thing. You think you do but you don't...." she mumbled to herself. "Snakes can easily sneak in. There are holes in every wall of this old barn. Not to mention i'm sure there are burrows, seeing as the floor is made of dirt..." she explained rashly, her fists balling up tightly. "And you can never predict what an animal can do. You can have the best trained horse on the planet and it could always possibly throw you off."
Haruhi wince. "That sounds awful..." she muttered. "I remember you talking about him at one point."

"Hey what's wrong with being from the city!?" Both Yuo and I exclaimed. "Just because we aren't from your home town doesn't mean we are less intelligent than people that live in a small town that isn't a big city!" Yuo exclaimed. This just made me extremely unhappy. IT wasn't fair to be called "stupid" by someone just because I was born and raised in Konoha, not in some tiny little village.
Yukio nodded. "It was my older brothers fault he got hurt actually. See my brother is very protective of me...and he broke Nero-kun's arm and cut the back of his heel open...so he couldn't walk."

"I never said you were less intelligent." she said quickly. "I just said that you don't know about living out here. You don't know much about barns or.. or they way animals react. When you've actually lived out here, you learn those kind of things. You two wouldn't get it..." she sighed and walked ahead slightly. "I didn't mean to sound as if i insulted you... sorry..."
'YOu brother!?" she squeeked in surprise. "That's awful! Your own brother would do that to someone you care about..."

I sighed. "It's ok..." I said quietly. "But just because we've never lived in a small town doesn't mean we don't know about animals and how they act..." I said. "I sneak out all the time to see Breezer even though both Haruhi and Ling warned me that Breezer wouldn't let anybody but Ling near him or on him." I said. "I proved them both wrong...I've sat on Breezer's back twice now...and I've been in his stall dozens of times with him, and he doesn't hurt me."
Yukio looked down. "My brother is very protective of me, he hurt Nero-kun because he though that Nero would break my heart..."

Haruka sighed. "Just because you can sit on him doesn't me you can predict what could happen." she said. "You should always be careful, even if you feel completely safe." They finally reached the back door, and Haruka opened it and held it for Yuo to get through with Shizuke first.
Haruhi shook her head. "That's a bit over board, especially for what he was afraid of him doing to you." she said quietly. "I mean, breaking someone's heart doesn't give people the right to nearly murder someone."

I sighed and blew a piece of hair from my face. "But still...Breezer's the most gentle horse I've ever met." I said. "I mean, he physically gets down on his knees for me to get on and off, and he takes his time getting up too." I said. "And he never nips or bites me if I hang on to tight or whatever. He just tolerates it!" I sighed as Yuo carried me inside.
"Haruhi! You don't know the entire lifes story." Yukio said. "See...2 days after I was born, my mother go really sick and died." she said. "And I was blamed for her death. My brother was just afraid that Nero would hurt me because I'm considered a murderer."

Haruka rolled her eyes. She was done argueing about it. Clearly, she was not going to be able to get anything through Shizuke's thick head. It was probably just a trait that ran in the Tsukiyama clan: extreme stubbornness.
"I personally still don't think that would give him the right to do that much damage..." she said calmly. "I understand that he had his reasoning but he should not have been quite so rash." "Hey, Haruhi." Haruka greeted her friend politely. "What did you cook? It smells great." she smiled. Haruhi nodded. "Just a bit of Pork soup and some variety sushi." she said.

Yuo sighed. "Shizuke why are you so stubborn?" he asked me. "Because I get it from Father!" I snapped as he set me down on the ground. I limped over and sat down at the table, rubbing my ankle slightly. Yuo took a seat too and smiled. "Everything smells wonderful Haruhi." he said happily.
Yukio sat down by me quietly, the talk of her mother had made her slightly upset and she wiped at her face sadly. Yukio just wanted to eat before she broke down in tears. "Yes Haruhi, it does smell wonderful." she agreed quietly, wiping at her face again.

Haruka took her normal seat next to Yuo, as she usually did at dining times. Haruhi finished laying out the food selection on the table. The soup, sushi, and a salad were the main dishes, as well as a few other sides. "Feel free to dig in." she encouraged as she took her seat. "Ling's over at a friends for dinner tonight. He wouldn't tell me who thought." she shrugged. Haruka began dishing things onto her plate and spooned a bit of soup into her bowl and began eating quietly, not sure how to start any conversation at that moment.

I dished my plate and put my arm around Yukio's shoulders as I munched on my food with my other hand. "Mmm, this tastes as good as it smells!" I said happily to Haruhi.
Yukio nodded in agreement with me as she ate at the food on her plate, glad to be eating instead of breaking down in tears. Yukio missed her mother, and the talk of her made her just miss her more.
Yuo munched at one of the sushi and glanced at Haruka, who seemed awfully quiet at the moment. "Why are you so quiet Haruka-chan?"

Haruhi smiled thankfully. "Thanks. It's good to know that someone besides my brother likes my cooking." she said with a slight laugh. "My mom is always nagging on me that 'There's too much of this spice,' or whatnot..." she spooned a bit of soup into her mouth quickly before she spoke again. "It's rather annoying, really."
Haruka shrugged. "I just... had nothing to say so i didn't..." she said simple. That was all there was too it. "I'm terrible at starting conversations..." she took her chopsticks and picked up a peice of ootoro and munched on it quietly.

Yukio smiled. "Nothing can have too many spices or what not." Yukio said.
I nodded. "Yeah, I should know. When I started learning to cook I'd always put too much of something in it. It still tasted wonderful, sometimes better." I said happily, smiling brightly.
Yuo smiled at Haruka. "Well I'm not exactly the best at starting conversations either." he said, smiling a bit more. "But I managed to get you into a conversation, even though I'm probably much worse at starting conversations than you are!" Yuo laughed as he sipped at the soup, still smiling at Haruka.
