The attention getter had worked. As he had waited, he was slowly making hand signs, as the mist in the air slowly gathered around him. He heard a slight commotion behind him and turned in time to see several copies of Haruka charging at him. He quickly finished his hand signs and announced it in a strained voice, "Maelstrom Jutsu." The mist started to rotate around him, spinning and spinning, faster and faster until a vortex of water had formed around him. He held the hand sign, concentrating intently on holding it. As the last of the mist was absorbed, the maelstrom had grown to tremendous size. He had hoped to save some chakra, but to equal the playing field, he had to use everything he had.

Haruka, as soon as she saw that the water from the mist was beginning to gather around him, started to stop her charge. But it was too late. Those of her clones that were in the swirls way made the familiar pop that all shadow clones made when they were deconstructed, all accepte one, which was attacking from over head.
Now, out of ther largest bit of irony, this last one attacking over head, was not a clone at all. This was the real Haruka. And as soon as he realized that the other four from the sides had been destroyed, she would be in trouble.
She continued her descent. She was dirrectly over him, so she could at least hope that she would land on top of him, and maybe be able to disable him of movement. When she finally came down, she hit something, but her eyes were shut tight, and she could not bring herself to see if it was him or the ground.

He made a muffled grunt as she landed on his head, knocking him out of position and releasing his hand sign. He landed face first on to the ground and felt quite jarred. He lay there for a moment, trying to get his breath and collect his thoughts, when he finally tried to get up. He could move the rest of his body, but his head was still being held to the ground. At first he thought Haruka was holding him down, was as he continued to try and free himself, he realized she was sitting directly on top of his head. "Harufa," he said in a muffled voice, "Your sihhing on mi hed!"

Haruka finally managed to open her eyes and look at where she had landed. Examining her possitioning, she noticed her body was strune sideways over his, making a sort of T formation. She blinked when there was suddenly a barely understandable mumble beneath her.
Jumping up, her face flushed over with embarassment. That was an extremely embarassing situation. "Sorry! I didn't mean to!" she quickly exclaimed, waving her hand appologetically. "I'd help you up but... we're kind of in the middle of a battle and... i don't exactly trust you i guess at the moment." she quickly resumed her defensive possitioning.

He spat out pieces of grass and dirt as he raised his head. He slowly pushed himself up and sat on the ground, shaking the dirt off of his face. He ran a hand over his face to remove the remaining debris, and then stood. He looked at her for a moment and then began laughing. "Hahaha! That's just my luck, ya know! Hehehe! You landed on my head what are the chances of that?" He held his sides, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. He looked at her, as she remained still, watching him. "Come on," he said through laughs, "You have to admit that it's funny."

Haruka kept her defense up, just incase he was trying to lure her into a feeling of confidence by making her comfortable with laughing. She did chuckle however, despite her better judgement. "Yeah... it was... I guess i need to work on my airial attacks a bit more..." she said through a grin. "Sorry again... I really didn't mean to."
She looked up, suddenly hearing a light chirping sound. She smirked as a small sparrow flew over her head, just in front of the sun. It was Kikia, her somewhat-of-a-pet bird. He came and went as he pleased, and occationally he was a help in these kinds of battles. Perhaps he could be of use later.

As her view went skyward, he couldn't help but look up as well, but quickly withdrew his sight, closing his eyes tightly. Whatever she was looking at, it was hidden by the bright sun which had just blinded him. He blinked a couple of times, then looked back at Haruka. "Sorry, I just figured it would seem funny to you too," he said, somewhat dissapointed. If it had been he who had landed on her, he would have been poking fun at her, just to lighten the mood. "I guess I forgot what we were doing. So, whenever you're ready..."

Haruka nodded, already ready to strike with her next plan. This had been a much more civil fight than those that she had been, probably better for her anyway, being as she had just gotten out of her arm cast.
Pulling out four different shiriken, Haruka thought this the picture time to strike with such weapons. The glint from the sun would make them much harder to detect than it would on a normal Konaha day. Tossing them towards him with great pursition, she kept her stance, ready from him if her weapons were to miss.

A shrill whirring made him jump with surprise. A ray of sunlight caught off one of the shuriken and he dived, rolling as to avoid them. As luck would have it, he hadn't seen one of them and it hit him in the back. "Ah! Owowowowo!" he said jumping in surprise. He scowled at her as he reached behind him and tugged it out of his back. "I'm starting to get tired of projectiles," he said a bit perturbed. "So how 'bout this," he said suddenly as her charged at her, ready for some close range fighting. As of now, the two had only been using projectile weapons and jutsu, with barely any hand-to-hand fighting. He was strongly hoping that it was due to Haruka not being as skilled in this area.

Haruka jumped as she suddenly charaged at her. His possitioning and body language clearly read that he was aiming for hand-to-hand combat. This was her weakest area of her abilities, but she had been working on it. Even so, it was still her one weak spot that she was fully aware of.
Quickly getting prepared for a good fighting stance, she ducked low, preparing for a sweeping kick underneath him for whenever he got close enough. It was a lame trick, but it was all she could think of on the spot.

The uncertainty on her face was a dead give away. She wasn't as confident with her hand-to-hand combat, which meant she might be weaker in this area. As he reached her he jabbed with his left, then his right, a 1-2 combo. Then he spun as fast as he possible could, putting all his strength into a backround house kick. He had never studied taijutsu on it's own, but he figured it was just throwing your wait around. What could be hard about that? he asked himself. This frontal assualt was all he could think of. He had no special fighting moves, but he was quickly running out of options.

Haruka thrushed her hands forwards in a cross possition for a defense. His first jab, with his left, she was barely able to block, but she could still feel the force on her arm. She completely missed his second and it landed her right in her right rib, knocking the wind from her.
Figuring now was a good time to throw out her sweep kick, she crouched, extending her left leg and turning precisely on the ball of her right foot. Unfortunatly, at that exact moment, he brought his leg up for a round kick, which skimmed over her head by only a few inches. Her foot sweep under the area where his raised leg would have been, and failed.
Rolling backwards over her shoulder, something she typically used to recover from a dive or crouch of some sort, she regained her standing possition. Charging him again, now that she had the balance, she threw her fists at him rapidly, right and left, one after the other. They were aimed to different parts of the body: shoulders, stomach, sides, and only one towards his face.
