The Day Being Blunt Became a Pro (Kyo)

[Kira]

Daisuke blew away his bangs impatiently, still wondering why he wouldn't get his long-ish hair cut.

It was already a fact that his hair often jabbed him in the eyes and he complained just to irritate people for the fun of it.

Finally deciding he should just chill out, he sat against a tree trunk, taking a moment to savor the relaxation and calmness of the air. He was glad that for once, he didn't have to deal with people whining about how mean they thought he was, just because he said everything so bluntly.

He knew himself well enough to say that he wouldn't lie, just so someone would feel better. After all, in the end, when they found out the truth, it would hurt more than if you just simply told them the truth in the beginning.

[Kyo]

Tora sat quietly up in a tree, wrinkling her nose in distaste out of habit as a boy sat below her, against the tree. She preferred being left alone, and she couldn't tell if ther person had known she was there. If he had, she wished he hadn't come to talk to her. 'Why can't people just leave me alone...,' she thought, stroking her cat, Rai's, fur.
At that moment, Rai leapt from Tora's arms, and into the boy's lap. Putting both front paws up onto his chest, Rai stared at the boy, and mewed. "Mew?"

[Kira]

Daisuke stared blankly at the cat that'd just flew out of what seemed to be nowhere, landing on his lap. When the cat answered his question with a "Mew?" He sighed to himself, not sure what to have expected from a cat.

Finally, he decided it didn't matter, since the cat probably just jumped out of the tree. He leaned back against the tree, softly running his fingers through the cat's fur, having almost no experience with animals before.

Sighing again, he told himself as soon as it hit noon, he was finding a home for the cat. After all, he being him would most likely make a bad pet owner. He wouldn't be cruel and just leave the cat in the wild. It never occurred to him whether the cat had a collar or not.

[Kyo]

Rai rubbed up against the boy, wanting to be petted. "Meeeeeoooowwwwww!," he insisted indignantly and impatiently. Rai was always up for a good, thorough petting session.
Tora sighed, not wanting to mingle, but she had no choice. Rai can get annoying sometimes, and Tora had to grab him before something bad might happen.
She jumped down from her high perch, landing on her feet with a small thud. She looked at the boy, and said, "Sorry 'bout that. Rai is overly curious, and he doesn't know when to respect other's personal space." There was a bit of sharpness in her voice headed towards Rai.
Rai mewed indignantly again, jumping lightly from the boy and to Tora's feet, looking up at her with wide kitty eyes. Tora looked at her kitty, and murmured, "No. I'm not gotta pet you right now. You know you're not supposed to annoy strangers..." Rai had the kitty equivalent of a pout on his furry face.

[Kira]

Daisuke shrugged, not really giving much thought into her words. In the back of his mind, he wondered why there were so many things that seemed to pop up out of nowhere.

"I don't mind at all..." he mumbled, leaning forward slightly to pet the small cat. Meant as a question to no one in particular, he asked, "So his name's Rai...?"

He also felt tempted to ask whether 'Rai' would actually listen, seeing as he already disobeyed the girl. He saw that the girl looked about his age, though it didn;t matter, since it wasn't likely he'd meet up with her again.

[Kyo]

Tora nodded. "Yes, his name's Rai," she said. "And it's been that since he found me." Tora always referred to Rai finding her, not the other way around. It was just the way things were, she hadn't gone looking for a cat, so a kitty found her.
Rai purred gratefully as he was petted by the boy. He pranced forward suddenly, settling himself in the boy's lap. Tora looked mildly surprised, but she really didn't take any interest in the matter. "He likes you," she said. "It's weird, he never really likes people quickly, he's just like me." Tora let her curiosity get the better of her, so she spoke. "What are you doing all alone? Don't you have anyone to hang out with?" Tora might have sounded rude, but frankly, she didn't care.

[Kira]

Daisuke felt like yawning slightly. He guessed he shouldn't have gone to bed so late last night. Hearing the girl's voice, he looked up again. Hearing her say that Rai liked him felt slightly odd. After all, he wasn't the kind of guy who was easily liked.

When asked why her was alone, he merely shrugged. He ignored the fact that her question sounded slightly rude. he couldn't criticize her when half the stuff that came out of his mouth was even worse.

"Guess I don't feel like hanging out with my friends right now. After all, i do have to cherish whatever isolation I manage to get, seeing as my friends aren't exactly the 'quiet' type," he muttered.

When he said that, he mostly meant Kuri. Katsuo had enough common sense not do go on and on about idiotic topics. Kuri, on the other hand, loved to hear his own voice.
Other than that, he never hung around with Kira, Miki, and Ren too often. he was slightly afraid of how a "woman's wrath" might feel, seeing as he could never keep rude comments to himself.

He still couldn't forget the one time he'd said something to Kira. In a matter of seconds, she completely blew up at his, nearly ripping his face off. Other than that one time, she was usually nice and relaxed.

"What about you? Don't you have any friends?" Daisuke bluntly inquired.

[Kyo]

Tora sighed. "Two, both are seriously more trouble than they're worth," she said dryly. But she really did care about her friends. Kyo, who was optimistic, fun, and always cheerful was a pretty good friend of hers, just the optimisim gets on Tora's nerves easily.
Ai was a klutz and a flirt, always being loud and winking at boys she barely knew. She was Tora's closest friends, besides her kitty. They contrasted each other perfectly, Tora always being silent and pessimistic, Ai loud and cheery.
Tora silently plopped herself on the ground, sitting cross-legged. Her legs were beginning to get tired from standing around, she'd been on her feet most of the day.

[Kira]

Daisuke let out a small chuckle. He guessed it wasn't only him who had odd friends.

"Well, one rarely talks unless its about training. The other is a helpless flirt. Meanwhile, their three female friends aren't exactly there best company either. One has a short temper and tried to kill me once. Another has male-phobia or something. The last is really girly-ish."

He sighed wearily. It was a bit rude, but he was never exactly a "gentleman." he went back to his old position of leaning on his arms, which were positioned behind his head. He stretched out his legs, seeing as they would fall asleep soon otherwise.
The only variation was that he was leaning on one arm, while the other pet Rai.

He nearly forgot that the small feline was on his lap.

[Kyo]

Tora chuckled. "Some of 'em sound like my friends. Kyo's stubborn and hot-tempered, and will seriously pound you into a very fine powder if you make her mad enough."
"Ai, on the other hand, is girly and a flirt, and loves pink." Tora winced. "It's sometimes painful for my eyes, and hard on my bran cells to be around her. But that's only if boy's are around. The girl flirts shamelessly..."
Tora trailed off, her thoughts wandering to her friends. She knew it wasn't good to ignore people, but she was kind of off in her own little world.
Rai noticed this, and he jumped from the boy and onto Tora's lap. Tora started, then she realized something. "I haven't introduced myself....," she murmured to herself. Then, in a slightly louder voice, she said. "..My name's Tora..I just I should inform you of my name if we're going to be friends or acquaintances or something of that nature..."

[Kira]

Daisuke grinned as he replied, "Daisuke." He was beginning to like Tora already. She sounded about as blunt as he was born to be. Still, he wondered what she would think of his straight-forward personality.

Yes, he was perfectly aware that he was a jerk, but he wasn't someone who would change for the sake of others. After all, his friends accepted him, why wouldn't others be able to?

With a slight flick of his head, his glossy locks were tossed away from his eyes. He was aware that it was a feminine thing to do, but if he went around letting people think he was a jerk, what did it matter what he did? He couldn't care less what others thought of him. He was like that by nature.

He spent a split second scanning Tora's physical profile. She was about his age, with short black hair containing a few hot pink highlights.
Simply, he thought she was quite pretty. It was a first, but he wasn't going to say that out loud. It wasn't like he cared, but he'd rather not be thought of as some sort of weird molester, just because he decided to tell some girl he just met that he thought she was pretty.

[Kyo]

Tora raised an eyebrow and smirked as 'Daisuke' grinned. "Wow, it can smile," she said, her bright pink eyes flickering mischievously. Tora enjoyed her sarcastic comments, but her victims mostly didn't. That was for sure.
She watched as he flicked his hair away from his eyes. Tora tended to watch people, silently, and it sometimes creeped others out. 'He has nice hair...'
Rai, becoming randomly grumpy, leapt up onto Tora's shoulder and batted her nose with his paw. Tora started, surprised, blinking a few times. She looked at her kitty. "Did you just hit me?," she asked, her voice stern. Rai put on fake kitty innocence.
Tora wasn't falling for it. She picked up Rai and tossed him over her shoulder. 'He'll be fine, cats land on their feet...Usually...'
Tora blew a strand of flyaway pink hair out of her face as she heard Rai hiss behind her.

[Kira]

Daisuke shrugged as Tora remarked, 'it can smile.' He appreciated knowing that he wasn't only one in the world who could state things bluntly.

He watched silently as the small cat batted at her nose and raised an eyebrow as he was thrown over her shoulder. Daisuke felt a bit relieved when he sae the small feline twist and land on its small paws. Like he thought, he knew nothing about cats.

He figured now was the time to start a topic for a conversation, but his mind came up with nothing. he sighed mentally, as he said asked, in a monotone voice, "Having fun throwing things over you shoulder?" He could've sworn that his lips curved up into a small smirk.

He silently expected to be slapped or something. Though he couldn't say Tora was like all the other girls he'd talked to, he could state that he was always getting hit in some sort of way for a Daisuke-esque comment. True, you could get used to it after a while, but usually, no one stuck around that long.

[Kyo]

Tora smirked. "Touche," she said. Apparently, she wasn't the only one who had a knack for sarcasm. "And yes, I am. Would you like to be next?," she asked in a light voice, but then she smiled slightly, showing that she was only joking. In a way, she thought, she wouldn't really have to. Daisuke seemed to be a similar type of person that she was, so she assumed he would probably get it, smile or no smile.
Rai noticed that he wasn't going to be the center of attention, so he padded indignatly up to a tree, and then nimbly climbed up into it. Settling onto a branch about halfway up, he merely watched the pair from above.

[Kira]

When he heard the tone in Tora's voice that sounded like she was smiling of some sort, he knew he found someone like him. Though her lips barely twitched in a smile, her tone spoke for it.

He thought of what his friends would be doing if they were watching him. Most likely, they'd be staring at his with a hidden sort of amazement. They'd be thinking, 'No way! Daisuke is flirting?!?!?'

He preferred not to think of his current conversation as "flirting." He was far too Daisuke-esque to flirt. Instead, he liked to call it a "nice conversation." Yes. That was all that it was.

Without a word, he stood up and stared at the small cat perched on the tree branch above him.

He held one hand out towards Rai, welcoming him to jump down for a friendly pat. It was odd. many of the words he used in his vocabulary currently, were not usual words that would be connected to him. Most of the time, he was far too detached from proper conversations, seeing as the people who he was friends with weren't exactly good to talk to.

It amused him the slightest bit. The small feline's named rhymed with the first syllable of his own name. he also wondered if Tora realized that her name meant tiger and tigers were part of the cat family. He almost frowned.

Was it him, or did he tend to take amusement out of the oddest things?
