Kyo wandered the streets of Konoha, being immensely bored out of her mind. She was twisting some plastic string around in her hands, the start of a chinese staircase boondoggle that she had started in attempt to occupy herself. It hadn't really worked. The chorus of a song was playing through her head, she has had the song 'Golden' stuck in her head since she got Fall Out Boy's 'Infinity On High' CD for her fifteenth birthday the other day. She needed something to occupy her time, her brothers were of no help at home, Haru was just lazing around, being his usual assholeish self, and Taru was immersed in a must be very good book, as usual. She sighed.

kakuta was once again short on cash. he thought that well the world always needed some entrainment that it might be a good idea to give it a shot. he was at a street corner with a small crowd of children around him. he had his lute in hand and he was singing the song "what's this" by the fall out boys. he was displaying a wide variety of emotions for his little show. he went threw a plethora of songs. after a week of preforming he did it more for fun then for food money any more. he just liked it when any one would listen to him preform now. he would have to leave town soon or get a real job because he hadn't eaten for the past two days. he was living off of water, clay and the occasional grub.

Kyo tilted her head slightly to the left as she heard a tune she recognized somewhere. She drifted over to the person who was playing it to get a better listening of the song he was playing on his lute. 'Oh!,' she thought. 'I know!' She recognized it as the song 'What's This?' from one of her favorite movies, Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas.' She also knew the version by Fall Out Boy, of course. FOB is one of her favorite bands. She grinned, settling on the ground in a sitting position to listen more comfortably, among a group of children. She didn't really mind, though, she sometimes acted like a child herself.

when he was done he had a smile on his face. "it's a shame i can't sound like jack on this song. but it seems faster pace so it's more fit to me at the moment." there was a small three year old girl that came toddling by. she always with out fail so far demanded that he sing the "imagination" song when ever she came by. it started when she first met him she made him make a new song on the spot for her. he hung his head waiting for her to ask for the song. but she instead walked up to a girl in the crowd and asked her. "what's a granny like you doing here?" he suppressed his growing grin. this little girl could really grow on him. straight to the point she was.

Kyo grinned at the little girl. "Granny?," she asked. She laughed. "I'm not that old. Sure, I'm a lot older than you, but I just really enjoy good music, and I was really, really bored." Kyo saw the musician supressing a smile, and she couldn't help but grin wider. Little kids were so innocent and blunt, Kyo loved them. She loved to baby her little brother, even though he was nearly thirteen and only two years her junior, plus he was wise beyond his years. "Do you have a favorite that you like him to play?," she asked the little girl.

the girl grinned she was cute. when she asked the little one what her favorite song was i immediately began to throw my thoughts at her as hard as i could. "the granny lady is evil don't say it. she will suck out your soul." but i knew that my thoughts wouldn't reach her. so she smiled britely and stated "the imagination song!" and i died a little on the inside. i said using all of the skill i just gathered as a showman "only for you of coarse." and began to play the song once again for my best and worst customer. it was true i wouldn't play that song for any one else. i'd kill before playing that song for certain people.

Kyo raised her eyebrows, smiling more. "The imagination song?," she asked. "That sounds like a really cool song! Everyone should use their imagination, it makes thing waaaaay more fun!" She patted the little girl on the head. "Right? You can just think and think up stuff that could probably never happen, but it would still be totally awesomerific!" Kyo was just in an unimaginably good mood at that moment, for no reason at all. That was how it usually was with Kyo, she would just be all smiley and happy and optimistic almost all the time, once she found something that sparked some interest in her.

the little girl aino hugged the bigger girl. "so much much more fun" she said. she paused for a moment and then asked. "whats awsomfrific mean?" kakuta played the song to it's best and finished it in what felt like no time. he looked at the girl she should look out of place with all of the smaller children. but she somehow seemed to fit right in. he said trying to sound friendly. "hi my name is kakuta." he felt weird playing such a childish song in front of any one who was older then five years old.

Kyo grinned as she was hugged by the little girl. She hugged back as the girl asked what 'awesomerific' meant. She had slight laughter in her voice as she explained. "Awesomerific is a word I made up. It means that things are totally really, really, really cool and awesome! It's one of my favorite words to say. Awesomerific!" Kyo threw in the last one just for fun. Kyo smiled brightly up at the guy that was just playing the song, her dark orange eyes being lit up by the sun. She stood up as he introduced himself. Putting out her hand she said, "My name's Kyo, nice to meet you!"

Aino nodded at kyo's answer as if she was a genius for making up the word. "you hear kuta! you hear what awesomerific means? your songs are like that!" she was almost bouncing she was so energized. kakuta scooped her up in his arms and said "well you are to." he pulled out a small bread and handed it to her. she was as bad with food as she was. being an orphan sucked so he helped her out. he turned to kyo. "nice to meet you too kyo. i'll be going soon. I actually have to do some work, do you know if there are any new missions out?" the village never gave outsiders like him missions but he always voulanteered for them. he was going to go out hunting again but the forest was scarce of proper food. he was gonna follow the deer tracks he had found the day before.

Kyo wrinkled her nose as he asked about the missions. "I've been lazing around lately," she said, rubbing the back of her head nervously. "I suppose that's been causing my boredom, but I'm just really lazy at times." Her mood was dampened slightly when she heard he would be going soon. Kyo never passed up the opportunity for a new friend, and she felt like she was getting along pretty well with Kakuta. Then, she had an idea. "hey," she said. "Do and your little friend want to go get a bite to eat somewhere? My treat to my new friends!" She reached forward and ruffled the little girl's hair, grinning her usual cheerful grin.

"well lazyness is something of an epidemic" kakuta said. after having her hair ruffled aino said with her mouth full. "you gonna cook us food?" and kakuta quickly replied "i don't think that's what she ment." he nodded at kyo "am i right?" he hid his emotions well. he didn't want her to know how much he was pressed for food. "what are we getting?" he paused gestured to the crowd of kids. "sorry my little ones i must now go." he bowed to them and waved them away. "can't forget the little ones can we."

Kyo smiled at the little one. "No, I'm a really bad cook. But, if you want a home made meal, I could get my older brother Haru to make something," she said. "He's the cook in the family." She thought about the last time she tried to make something. "Last time I tried to cook, I tried flipping a pancake," she said, giggling at the funny memories. "The pancake went up to the ceiling and got stuck there, and then it fell on my brother Haru's head while it was still all soft and really hot. He was really mad at me, but me and my younger brother couldn't stop laughing!" She shrugged. "But anyways, whatever you guys prefer is good."

kakuta whispered loudly to aino. "so do you want to have home made food cooked by the girl that burns water, gets toast soggy, and just my touching suger makes it bitter? or do you want to go to a restaurant? it's up to you." aino seemed to be pondering be for whispering loudly back. "she can make suger bitter? i wanna see that." kakuta answered "probably a jutsu passed down in her family for generations. imagine your happy eating your candy and it turns bitter. a powerful and diabolical jutsu that is isn't it?" she gasped in mock horror then said to kyo. "to the restaurant it is!"

Kyo's eye twitched bluntly as Kakuta whispered to the little girl, Aino. She could plainly hear it, he wasn't being very"Alright," she started indignantly. "First, I have never burned water! Second, I've only burned toast so badly it caught on fire, not made it all soggy! And third, I have no idea how to make sugar bitter! That'd be horrible, anyways. Sugar is awesome!" Kyo crossed her arms, plainly pouting. 'Anyways, I'd just make Haru do all the cooking..,' she thought, smiling when she thought of how she might go about that. But the little girl chose the restaurant, and Kyo nodded, smiling. "Okay then!"
