Hishime stared at the robe for a second, then looked up at the man, slowly shaking her head. “No.” She mumbled. She was just to stubborn to take anything from strangers. She knew damn well that she was being rude, but he had to understand that she couldn’t trust anyone.
The woman gave a small grin as he politely introduced himself. She would never do that, at least not that way. She had to admit, his politeness was slightly amusing. Hishime gave a small nod, as if she was saying ‘Nice to meet you’.
The pale ninja spun the kunai around a thin finger before putting it back in her weapon pouch. She wasn’t going to introduce herself. Not even if he asked her what her name was. At least, there was no way she would tell him her last name.
Quickly trying to think of something to change the subject, she questioned annoyed and curiously, “How long will it take to reach the village?” Her pinkish lips curled into a small grin. “Or am I not allowed to enter?”

"Hmm... as you wish," he frowned when she refused the robe. Well, he did say it was a little wet, after all... He could understand why she'd refuse.
"Ahh well," he thought. "It just means I'll have to stay a little more wary, that's all."
Takumi nodded back approvingly after the stranger nodded to him, but when she didn't give her name in return, he was a little disappointed.
"Still, she did put away her weapons," he said to himself. "Which reminds me..."
"Oh, it's close enough, I suppose..." he replied vaguely. "Why, what reason do you have for visiting, if you don't mind my asking? Oh, and..." He offered up the kunai he'd been holding, facing the handles towards her. "I believe these are yours."
He didn't mind being disarmed - in fact, he rather liked fighting "unarmed" with the help of his jutsu... so returning her kunai wasn't such a big deal for him, and she would probably appreciate it.

Again, Hishime stared at her kunai for a moment, wondering if it was 100% safe to take them back. She couldn’t let her guard down, not even with something simple like taking back her kunai. Then, she slowly took hold on the handles, and waited for him to let go instead of just pulling them back. She didn’t want to cause any unnecessary injuries.
She sheathed her kunai, and just simply nodded again as if saying ‘Thank you’. Also, she didn’t answer his question right away. “It’s none of your concern.” She replied, looking away to avoid eye contact.
She found herself in a difficult situation. This man was curious. And too curious for her liking. She sighed in annoyance. “Tell me which way the village is.” In her ears, it sounded like she was demanding him. It sounded rude and anti-social. “Please..” She added in a quiet whisper, afraid that he wouldn’t listen to her if she wouldn’t be a little more polite.

The kunoichi was being very guarded in her words and actions, which made Takumi doubt her intentions, but when all was said and done she didn't seem like she truly meant harm.
"Well... the most direct route is that way," he sighed, pointing into the impenetrable shroud of mist. "... but it's easy to get lost, so perhaps it would be best for me to accompany you," he stated. It wasn't a question or an offer - he meant to accompany her in any case, and while he still did his best to stay polite, his tone made it clear that he wasn't going to let her enter the village alone.

The kunoichi thought for a second. He did have a point there. And knowing her luck, she would definitely get lost. With a small sigh, she finally gave in. “Yeah, whatever.” She mumbled quietly, but her words were still clear.
She didn’t like the fact that he was going to escort her, but she just had to deal with it. She was already glad that he had stopped asking questions for a second. She didn’t want to, and wasn’t allowed to give away any information about herself freely.
The young woman cleared her throat. “Lead the way.” Her eyes were still avoiding any contact with his, afraid that they would give away any leaking information. She truly had no intention to hurt any villager, but her rude tone and anti-social expression probably made it seem that way.

Takumi disliked the idea of turning his back on such a defensive ninja, but if it came to it, the ninja of the mist couldn't always rely on sight anyway. Leading the way through the mist, he considered that he could probably overwhelm her and turn her in as a prisoner, but... well, that would be rude at this point. Her initial provocation may have deserved the reaction he gave, but while she still didn't cooperate very well, she wasn't giving him any real cause to attack her anymore.
As they drew near the village, Takumi couldn't help but feel sorry for the kunoichi - she obviously wasn't really prepared for any of this.
"Listen, I don't want to intrude upon your customs, but... please, be sure to get something warmer to wear while you're here, okay?"

Hishime silently followed the man, not making any necessary sounds. Her hands were tightly inside the pockets of her jacket, and she walked with her almost bare legs close to each other. Now and then, she would take a deep breath or cough slightly. It was hard for her to be in such temperatures.
‘Listen.’ The man suddenly broke the silence. Hishime looked up at him. ‘I don’t want to intrude upon your customs, but please, be sure to get something warmed to wear while you’re here, okay?’ It wasn’t really a question, more like a suggestion in her eyes. “We’ll see.” The young woman gave a short reply, again, just simply waving away the beginning of a conversation, directing her eyes back on boots.
She was secretly grateful that the man was willing to take her to the village, and that he was concerned about her. It made her feel, a little bit more... human.

“We’ll see.”
It wasn't the most encouraging response, but... at least it was something. She obviously didn't want to talk to him... Takumi sighed. He was going to have to write up a report on this, and all of this on what was supposed to have been a day off... He really wasn't looking forward to the report, but if he was lazy about it, it'd be on his head if the woman caused problems... Well, it'd probably be on his head anyway, for letting her in, but... he still didn't need the extra weight on him. Noticing a change in the feel of his surroundings, Takumi looked around. They were practically there.
"Well, it looks like we're just about here... If you don't mind my asking, how long do you intend to stay here? I don't imagine you've arranged for a place to stay..."

‘Well, it looks like we’re just about there. If you don’t mind me asking, how long do you intend to stay here?’ The man asked. Yup, he definitely was curious. And he had the right to be curious. She would be too. No, she was too.
There were a lot of things she wanted to know. Also things about the man himself. “I don’t know.” Hishime replied, honestly this time. “No longer than two weeks, that’s for sure. First, I have to find a place to stay, then.. We’ll see.” She hoped that she hadn’t given away any important information.
The black-haired chunin was glad that they would reach the village soon. Now, she only had to find a cheap inn, eat, take a shower, and sleep. What would happen the next day? She didn’t have a clue, and actually didn’t want to know either.

"Two weeks, huh...?" Takumi said to himself. "Probably less, but..."
"Seeing as you need a place to stay, you're welcome to borrow my place on the outskirts if you want. It's not much, but it's a nice place to stay when you don't want to be bothered... Nobody ever stops by." Takumi grinned and glanced at her. "I like it there. Nice and quiet. I've got another place I can stay, if you'd rather not stay with me there. I'd invite you there too, but..." he flushed a bit. "... It's kind of messy... I know I should clean it up, but I just never seem to get around to it..."

Hishime gave the smallest smile. “I don’t mind company.” She said quietly. She was happy that he had invited her, but was curious why. Was he plotting something? Suddenly, a memory filled her thoughts. A memory of her father. What if something like that would happen again? The girl shivered at the thought, holding back any hints of sadness and fear.
“But why are you inviting me? Want to keep a close eye on me?” She asked. The woman hoped that this hadn’t ruined anything. It would be nice to have some company, especially at night. Being alone, it wasn’t the greatest feeling ever. She looked up at him, and for the first time, but only slightly, smiled at him.

Takumi was surprised - he really wasn't expecting that she would want to stay with him. With the way she had acted earlier, he wouldn't have been surprised if she had declined his offer entirely. He wondered for a moment what he was getting himself into; He wasn't used to company... but an offer was an offer. Besides...
"Let's see, what is my reason...? I suppose... I'm curious about you, and besides, I feel like I owe you for earlier. Actually, I'm also sorry I didn't collect your other kunai for you - I could have, but it didn't occur to me at the time. Anyway, if that's not enough..." Takumi grinned. "... I'd hate to see you try staying in one of the inns around here. The affordable ones can be really awful, and the decent ones will do their best to suck all of the money you have out of you."
Actually, he was making it up - he honestly didn't know what the inns were like at all, or where any of them were. There were still a lot of things he didn't know about his village, and many of them he probably never would. He just felt like he needed to throw some humor in there while not making her feel like he was just doing this because he felt like he owed her... While this was partially true, for the most part his only real reason was that this was where his whim had fallen. Besides, she seemed like she could be nice enough once she'd warmed up to him. Or at least, he hoped so...

The young woman just quietly listened to what he had to say. One thing surprised her a bit. ‘I’m curious about you.’. Of course, it actually was completely normal, but a small part of her found it odd. Maybe it was just because that little part of her was also scared to death.
She didn’t know what she had gotten herself into. It all started with an attack, continued by some running exercises, and now she was staying at some stranger’s house! Had she gone mad? What was coming next?
“And, it’s not safe to be outside at night. If you know what I mean..” She added, her voice trailing off at the last part. This was one thing that she was afraid of. She hoped that he just wouldn’t ask, and understand what she meant by that. It wasn’t that hard, really, it was pretty obvious.
Hishime shivered, as the cold wind kissed her skin once again. She could barely feel the cold anymore. She had been in it for a long time now, in very thin clothing, parts of her skin were starting to feel numb.

(ooc: I'm really sorry for disappearing on ya so suddenly - I'd been awake for longer than my body was able to handle, it seems... I had been trying to stay up for someone, too...)
"Hmm... I suppose you're right..." he nodded...
"Although for one who loves the cold... nighttime in Kirigakure can be absolutely wonderful..."
Takumi nodded to some shinobi who were standing guard as they entered the village, who barely even took notice of him as usual, and glanced at his newfound guest. She certainly didn't seem to love the cold, at least not right now.
"I think... we should get you inside as soon as possible. Would you like to go somewhere to eat, or should we go straight to my place?"
He hoped that didn't sound too awkward, but he couldn't think of any better way to say it.
"I could cook for you, if you'd like, but I only really ever make simple dishes..."

(OOC: It doesn't matter, don't worry about it! ) A cold shiver went down her spine as they both entered the Hidden Mist Village. She already knew that the guards would look at her, but she could practically feel them staring, actually staring, at her ass. If she wasn’t new in this place, and if they weren’t guarding the entrance, she would’ve slapped both of them sharply across the face. She hated this, it actually happened quite a lot. But, then again, it could be pretty useful because most men are always easily distracted; easy kill.
The female shinobi couldn’t help but shoot at least a death glare at both of the men as she passed by. ‘I think..’ Takumi broke the silence. Hishime looked up at him curiously. ‘We should get you inside as soon as possible. Would you like to go somewhere to eat, or should we go straight to my place?’
The young woman sighed. “Doesn’t matter, everything’s fine by me.” She paused for a second, thinking for a moment. “But, if we’re going somewhere to grab something, then please let me pay for my own food.” It wasn’t really a suggestion, she only added ‘Please’ to make it sound more politely. She was going to pay for her own food, no matter how often he would tell her that it was his treat.
“Or..” The shivering girl continued. “We could go to your place, and I’ll cook us a meal. I own you something for letting me stay. How about that?”
