“We could go to your place, and I’ll cook us a meal. I owe you something for letting me stay. How about that?”
Takumi considered this. Normally he wouldn't accept such an offer, but... to be honest, a lot of the food in the area wasn't all that wonderful, and he was curious about her cooking. Besides, perhaps it would be rude of him to refuse...
"I suppose I wouldn't mind trying your cooking, but please, you don't need to feel like you owe me anything."
And anyway, he preferred to be away from the main part of the village. Although it wasn't really all that bad, to him it felt very crowded.

‘I suppose I wouldn’t mind trying your cooking, but please, you don’t need to feel like you owe me anything.’
Hishime slowly nodded. At first, she wanted to interrupt him, saying that she did own him something, but that wouldn’t be of any use. There was another moment of silence. The female noticed that she was starting to talk more, and to open up a little. She didn’t take this as a good sign. Perhaps it would be better for her to keep her mouth shut for a while.
As they moved further and further into the village, the colder it seemed to get. Trying to ignore the cold was very hard when you’re dressed like it was summer. The icy wind was literally biting in her skin, it was very unpleasant. The shinobi bit her lip slightly, tying to ignore the pain at any cost.
After a few minutes, Hishime finally decided to break the silence. She thought for a moment about what to say. And when nothing came in her mind, she just gave a short, awkward cough.

It was painful for Takumi to see his guest so uncomfortable. The further they went into the village, the worse it seemed to be for her. He wasn't even taking her into the heart of the village... just the fastest way to his place on the outskirts.
The woman coughed, as though she wanted to say something, but nothing more came. Takumi fumbled about for something to say, but while he was polite, conversation wasn't actually a strong point of his.
"Umm... so... What's your name, anyway... if you don't mind my asking...?"

The female sighed, taking her time to think of a way to answer his question without giving away any important information. “Call me Yuki for now..” She said quietly. By the way she said it, she made it pretty obvious that it wasn’t her real name. But she knew that he would understand, besides, once they were alone she could explain everything to him if necessary.
Once again, she found herself desperate for something to say. It didn’t matter what it was, just something simple would be great. After a few more minutes of walking in silence, the kunoichi took a deep breath.
“What time is it?” She asked, her voice almost emotionless as she spoke, making it sound even worse. She knew that it was one of the stupidest questions ever, but she truly had no clue. The sky seemed darker than in other countries, she didn’t know if it was still around noon, or if it was already getting late.

"Yuki, huh...?" Obviously a false name, with the way she gave it, but... "Pleased to meet you, Yuki."
They were silent again for a while, but after a few minutes Yuki took a deep breath.
"What time is it?" she asked without much emotion.
Takumi blinked. Time? He rarely had a use for time when he wasn't on a mission, and with the mist it was always hard to tell... Still, he was starting to get hungry, so it was probably close to mealtime for him... but really, that meant nothing. He ate when he was hungry. He was too disconnected to care when most people ate, since eating with people was never an issue for him. Takumi shrugged and sighed.
"I'm sorry, I really don't know. Ah, but we're almost at my place! It won't be long now..."
Come to think of it, he didn't even have a clock. Normally people just woke him up when they needed him, whether it was from sleep or just another of his daydreams.

‘Pleased to meet you, Yuki.’ The man replied. It wasn’t hard to see that he knew that it was a false name. But, then again, it was her intention to let him know that. She was planning to give away her real name once they’d reached his house. Hishime simply nodded in reply, not feeling the need to say anything to this.
‘I’m sorry, I really don’t know. Ah, but we’re almost at my place! It won’t take long.’ The girl chuckled slightly at his reaction. “Nevermind..” She muttered, again, ending the beginning of a starting conversation. It was a stupid subject anyway. Time? Sounds like something old men would talk about.
A small sigh came from her full lips. She was tired. Her legs and feet were acing. She was glad that she would be able to sit down soon. Or, at least spend some time inside a warm, comfortable house. She had offered him to cook a meal, so she had to. The question was; when? Would she be able to sit down and rest a little bit, or should she run into the kitchen right away? She, herself, was quite hungry, but also very tired. She guessed that question would be answered later.

"Hmm... looks like we're here."
They came to a simple, completely unadorned house at the edge of the village. It wasn't much to look at - its design was more practical than artistic, and its owner didn't seem to see anything wrong with that. Takumi opened the door and invited Yuki inside. It was much warmer than it was outside, and a lot drier as well. The inside was very plain, to the point that one might think nobody actually lived there - it was clean simply because there was nothing there to make it messy.
"Should I heat up some tea?" Takumi offered.

‘Looks like we’re here.’
They quietly approached the front door. It looked nice, no unnecessary designs or anything. Just simple, welcoming, just nice. Once Takumi had opened the door, Hishime was immediately greeted by warmth. The young ninja stepped inside carefully, almost automatically taking her boots off politely. She looked around for a moment, trying to warm her hands by rubbing them together. The inside didn’t look much different than the outside. Still simple and nice.
‘Should I heat up some tea?’ Takumi asked politely. Hishime was silent for a moment. She was practically dying for something to drink, and some tea would help her to warm up a little. Besides, Takumi didn’t seem like the person who would play some dirty trick on someone without much reason.
“I would appreciate that.” The female replied. She kept her words short, but simple. And at the same time, trying not to sound as rude as she normally was to strangers. He had invited her in his own house, offered her a place to sleep. It wouldn’t be right to glare at him all the time with cold eyes.
“Nice little place you have..” Hishime said quietly. She felt like she had to say at least something. She was truly thankful, and didn’t want him to worry about the fact that this place wasn’t that much. It was just enough.

"I would appreciate that," Yuki replied.
With a nod, Takumi started to busy himself with preparing the tea for his guest. He also pulled out a low folding table, and two cushions to sit on. He normally kept these things put away, but he still held on to them and used them from time to time.
"Nice little place you have.." Yuki said quietly.
He could see that she was trying to be nice, but he couldn't help but laugh.
"It's not big, I'll give you that, but there's really not enough here to call it a nice place... I usually come here just to sit and daydream in peace and quiet... Haha, this is probably the noisiest it's been in ages," Takumi said cheerfully. He didn't know why, but all of this was putting him in a strangely good mood.

Hishime was surprised by Takumi’s cheerful reaction. “Well, it’s way better than what I’m used to.” She replied, the same quiet tone in her voice. She wasn’t being shy, not at all, she just never talked really loud.
Slowly, the feeling started to return in her body. She ran her hands through her hair, trying to make it at least less messy. The house was lighted nicely, it was better than the dark outside. Only now it was visible how pale she really was. Eyeliner and mascara was smudged slightly underneath her eyes. Her skirt was partly torn and her jacket tightly around her, like it was a size too small. Her white stockings only went up to her knee. They didn’t help much against the cold, but she was glad she was wearing them.
“At least it isn’t so damn cold, just..” The kunoichi paused for a moment. Thinking of a way to put it right. “Well, just a nice little place.” She repeated with her lips curled into a little smile.

“Well, it’s way better than what I’m used to.”
Takumi wondered what, then, she was used to - it couldn't be very good - but decided it wouldn't be polite to ask. Leaving the water to come to a boil, he looked around to see if anything needed to be straighted up, but of course there was nothing. Instead, he took a better look at his guest. She seemed a little unkempt, and though she tried to smooth out her mess of black hair, it still wasn't really very tidy.
“At least it isn’t so damn cold, just... Well, just a nice little place," Yuri smiled slightly.
"It definitely is a lot warmer in here, isn't it?" Takumi smiled. "Hopefully the tea will help you warm up some more. I understand that Kirigakure can be quite a shift for those from other lands. Oh, would you care for a blanket? I'm sure I have one around here somewhere..."

The girl chuckled slightly when the man asked her if she needed a blanket. She had to admit, he was being very nice. Especially for someone who attacked him half an hour ago. Hishime was still a bit cold, but a few more minutes of rubbing her hands together and shivering, and she’d be fine.
The shinobi shook her head slowly. “Not necessary.” She answered. “If I need something, I’ll just ask.” She couldn’t help but give a short, quiet laugh after.
“Like now, for example.” She paused for a second, thinking about how to say it without letting it sound stupid. “Could I use your bathroom real quick? A mirror or something might be handy..” Her voice trailed of as she said the last part. There was a chance that he didn’t have a mirror, but it was at least worth asking.

"A mirror? Actually..." Takumi blushed slightly. "I have a mirrored closet in the next room..."
He was too embarrassed to admit that he actually enjoyed spending time in front of it, watching the waves on his robes flow as he moved. It reminded him of the ocean...
"From there, the restroom is through the door to the left, and the bathroom is to the right. There's no mirror in either, though..."
Takumi was getting a little nervous. He wasn't used to sharing any of these things with anyone since he'd left his parents' place. Still, he had a guest now, and she had the right to use them. In fact, things could get quite messy if she didn't... Takumi coughed and shook the thought out of his head.
"Feel free to use them when you need to."

Hishime nodded quickly before disappearing out of sight by entering the room he was talking about, the one with the mirrored closet. She sighed quietly, noticing how bad she looked right now. Her hair was worse than she thought it would be, a complete mess. Quickly, she fished a small hairbrush out of the pouch on her hip, and pulled it trough her dark locks. It took her a few minutes to finally get her hair the way it used to be; straight, shoulder-length, and covering her left eye.
A quick glance at her old, torn skirt screamed for desperate changes. The girl removed the pouch from her hip and placed it on the floor. It didn’t surprise her in the slightest that the floor was cold. Carefully searching through the mess inside, she finally found what she was searching for. A pair of dark-blue colored shorts were tightly wrapped together. After unfolding them, she quickly replaced her black skirt with the shorts. As last, she unzipped her jacket a little bit, only to create a v-neck. Way better..
By now, Takumi was probably wondering what was taking her so long. “Man, this feels way better.” The female said with her usual quiet voice as she opened the door, the pouch back on her hip, like earlier. She quietly closed the door behind her. “Now, if only people would stop staring at my butt..”
A quiet laugh came from her mouth. She couldn’t help but say something like that. It was actually pretty out of character for her, but it didn’t matter. She was going to stay here for at least one night, so she had to open up a little more. Also, the time that she had to tell him her real name would be very soon.

“Now, if only people would stop staring at my butt..”
Takumi had to stifle a laugh when he heard that. He was already seated in front of the low table which had been set for serving tea, waiting for her. He had to admit, she looked a lot better now; Her hair was straightened out nicely, and she'd replaced her skirt with shorts... but it hadn't even occurred to him to actually look at her butt before she'd mentioned it. He automatically glanced at it, but quickly looked away, remembering himself, and hoped she didn't notice, though when she laughed quietly he feared that she probably had. Takumi coughed gently.
"Umm... the tea is ready. Please, have a seat."
