Taking Shizuke's worry into context, she politely shook her head in decline. "Sorry. But i think we'll find somewhere else to stay tonight." she said to Mai Lee. "I'll visit again. I promise." she added, finding that Mai Lee was probably a frigile person. A smile spread across the woman's face. "Well, we'll just be leaving then..." Haruka said after a long pause, tugging on Yuo's arm gently. Her father was still glaring at him, for what reason she didn't know. She just had to get him out of there. "I'll see if we can stay with Haruhi's family tonight"

Yuo turned and followed Haruka, putting his arm around her waist, to basically tell her father that Haruka was under his protection. I nodded and followed behind. "Yay! I want to get to know Haruhi better, she is very nice." I said. Yukio nodded. "Haruhi is a very nice person, will she visit Konoha?" Yukio asked. Yukio and myself were hoping that Haruhi would come visit.

She could feel her father's eyes follow them all the way out the door, both with suspicion and anger. She cringed at the thought she was sure were going through his head. "I don't know..." she said truthfully. "And Haruhi's nice... i just don't know if her family will let us stay the night." Luckily, Haruhi hadn't moved from her stop in town square where they had met her. When they approached her, Haruka asked about the situation, and she quickly agree. "Just follow me!" she said happily. "I just know Ling will be happy to see you!"

I trotted after Haruhi. "Who is Ling?" I asked her. I didn't know anybody in this town, until now of course. Yuo kept beside Haruka, trying to shake that picture of Haruka's father. He just despised him. "I don't understand how you can say you are his daughter." Yuo said. Yukio ran after me and Haruhi. She was so happy!

Haruhi quickly explained to Shizuke and Yukio, who seemed the most eager to know. "Ling is my older brother by only a few minutes. Him, me and Haruka have been friend since we were in diapers." She grinned back at Yuo and Haruka, suddening noticing their closeness. She squirmed, not wanting to tell Haruka the viatal peice of imformation that her mother would tell her later.
Haruka looked down at the street as they all followed Haruhi. "He wasn't always a jerk. Just after mom died..."

I nodded. "Is he a nice person? Do you think he'd get along with Yuo?" I asked her. I was excited now, so many new people! I turned and looked at Yuo, who seemed disgusted. Yukio smiled happily. "3 people with older brothers, yay........at least he's close to your age Haruhi-chan. My older brother is 20." Yukio grumbled. Yuo was still unhappy. "I still do not understand how you can say that you are his daughter, I would be so ashamed." Yuo said.

Haruhi nodded. "I'm sure. He's a bit of a muscle head thought. Always lifting weights, yet he doesn't look that musclar..." she laughed. "What's up with them?" she added quickly in a whisper to Shizuke, curiousity welming her over. Haruka looked up at him. "I just want my father back. He's the one that's ashamed of me. And to tell the truth i don't exactly deserve it..."

I chuckled and whispered back. "They're a bit of a couple." I whispered. "He met her on the day that I first sparred Haruka-chan, and did I bit of damage." I said. "But she can tell you that story." I said. Yukio nodded. "Aren't they cute together?" she asked Haruhi. Yuo looked at her. "Why is he ashamed of you, you are wonderful." Yuo said.

Haruhi made a worried face as her suspicion was confirmed. "This is bad..." she said quickly and quietly. "My mom will rip her apart... dammit..." Her mother was the matchmaker. All the town girls were to be paired off with men when they turned 15. It was a tradtion and now that Haruka was back, her mother would surely force this on her.
Again, she found herself sighing. Despite the fact that she loved when he said it, she did't need him lying to her. "Yuo, please don't say that..."

"Why?" I asked Haruhi quietly. "Yuo has the softest spot ever for Haruka-chan, he's very protective of her, even if they argue alot." I said quieter, looking back at Yuo and Haruka. "What? That you are wonderful? But it is true, you are!" Yuo said, smiling a bit at Haruka. "You are patient, and even through all of our aruging and hard times, you still are with me!" Yuo exclaimed.

Haruhi bit her lip. "Tradition. In this village we have aranged marriages. Haruka's of age." She let her head fall into her hands, sorry now that Haruka had even returned to the Land of Tea. "I've already been promised to someone and i just turned fifteen two months ago..."
Haruka shook her head as she took his hand again. "That doesn't make me wonderful. Patient, i'll agree with, but wonderful is and overstatement."

"Really?" I asked Haruhi. I looked at her, trying to get a better look at her face, instead of her hands. "But do you love the guy you've been promised too?" I asked her. I sighed and smile spread across my face. Yukio giggled. "Shizuke's got her sights set on someone back in Konoha, and so do I!" Yukio said happily. Yukio turned and looked back at Haruka and Yuo, and began to wonder. Yuo shook his head. "No, no overstatement, you are wonderful." Yuo said "You are kind, patient, and forgiving." Yuo said. "All those times we argued, the time that I pushed you to the ground, you kept on forgiving me, I do not understand how though." Yuo said.

Haruhi shook her head violently. "I hardly know the guy. He's thirteen years older than me too. And i'm in love with someone else, but i can't say anything because my mom will kill me. If i could just say no i would." she spread her fingers so she could see through to look at Shizuke and Yukio. "How can you be smiling?!" she whispered ergently. "Don't you understand that that will...." she looked back at Yuo and Haruka as well, biting her lip again.
Haruka laughed. "So i'm forgiving. I kind of had to be when i was little. So i just am now..." she shrugged. She looked ahead. "Why do they keep looking back at us?" she asked quietly.

I smiled bigger. "I can't help but smile, I have my love back in Konoha." I said. I tilted my head a bit at Haruhi. "Why is your tradition so harsh? If I had to go by that tradition I'd say no off the bat." I said. Yukio rolled her eyes. "Well don't make her jealous that we don't have to follow tradition in Konoha." Yukio said. Yukio looked over at Haruhi. "I'd probably do the same as Shizuke, just say no, to be truthful, I think that you should love someone to be with them..not be placed with them just because." Yukio said. "Good question." Yuo said. "I can only hear parts of their discussion, something about Haruhi's mother and love." Yuo said.

Haruka shrugged. "That would make sense. I remember that her mom was the towns matchmaker--" she stopped with the sudden memory. "Oh s***...." she cursed. She smacked her head. "Sorry..." She grumbled.
Haruhi shook her head again. "It's not that simple. Our family honor is on the line if we don't..." she explained. "But... Ryku..." she was referring to the boy that she had fallen for what seemed like so long ago. "No... If we say no... we're disowned... and it's tougher on me because my mom's the matchmaker... she enforces the traditions."
